Just picked up Halloween 95

I went to the music store to get New Years 95, but they were out so I went with the Halloween show. I will end up with both shows anyway so its not really a loss. I just wanted to say I love this YEM. Wow, I dont know why this one speaks to me so much but I love it. Its the jam that I love. The composed part is allright. The first set of the show didn't do a whole lot for me, I loved this Harpua though. Great cover of The Who. What do you guys think?

It is great.

that yem is face melting…tell you what…be at the show when yer 16…2nd show…and eat a ten strip…

yeah…done and done and done…me likey…

does anyone else hear that ripping of time/music jam and then the native american jam? if i had the disc here i would point out the minute mark…but i bet a lot of you knwo what im talkin about…

then again i think i may be crazy.

^^^i still enjoy the first set…i love how icculus opens it up and sets the tone…divided sky and a really good ya mar…first set is overlooked but solid for sure

Native American jam?! Huh.

That first set is considered by some the greatest ever and for a time i agreed. Not noted in the setlist is it was the first Guyute in about a year and it was WANTED badly by all of us back then if you can believe it. The Free is sick with Trey on the Drumkit. And Icculus i mean come on now! I really hope they get back together so you all can enjoy the aspects of tour and bustouts and just the fever that comes with going from show to show. With nothing but recordings coming out to keep us occupied it is unfair to the tour experience. I could go on for hours about this but i won’t. Maybe next time some of you get a live release also get the 2 shows before and after and then rate the shows that way.

^agreed bigb. icculus, divided sky, ya mar opener…strong indeed

This show took off from the get go.

When they busted into Icculus I thought the place was going to explode. I was dead center just to the right of the tapers and my section was losing it. I’ve never felt anything like that. The electricity in that place during Icculus was nuts. I get the chills just thinking of it. The tapers went nuts, and when they started up Guyute, Bigb is right, it was much needed indeed! That first set was really good I thought. A nice set-list if you look at it. Great variety. An instant classic!

I remember walking out and some guys complaining about how short the 3rd set was. They guy behind me almost had a heart-attack. He yelled at them:

“That YEM was 40 minutes long you tools”

I still laugh at the thought of it. It was the first time I heard the word tool used like that.

Not to mention the great “Jesus Left Chicago” with Grippo on sax. They blew-up Fishman’s drums at the end of “My Generation”. Such a kick-ass show!

My 6th show set the bar quite high.

I was going to pick this up monday! i was at borders, sae that it was in stock, but it wasn’t in the Phish section. So I ask a lady, she looks it up, and tells me that 1 copy is somewhere on the floor. “Well, to hell with that!” I said to myself. I then proceded to buy the first GD album instead. I’m trying to get more into GD.

Frickin SMOKIN show! I even enjoy the first set. 45 minute YEM is EPIC.

badass indeed.

my favorite show most likely

i guess you dont understand man…maybe yer not “in the know”…

One of my favorite YEMs as well.

I love the Icculus opener, such an incredible version! Trey goes all out!

I just bought this yesterday, I’m listening to it now. Quadrophenia is an incredible album. This might be more solid than the White Album performance.

The White Album is too “poppy” for Phish I think. The first set on this show is pretty solid I think.

WHAT!?! TOO POPPY…MUST…BREATHE…MUST…BREATHE…

*Harpua passes out on the floor *

Wake up Harpua! It’s just yem, you can’t put too much thought into most of what he says. I don’t get how the White Album is any more “poppy” than any music that phish has released in their career…have you ever heard “The Connection” yem? Probably not if you haven’t even heard Maze.

One of the reasons I got into Phish was becasue I loved the Who so much and I had heard that Phish covered them in 1995. My focus shifted from the Who to Phish right then and there. I always wished they would’ve covered Tommy, rather than Quadrophenia, but it’s still an epic show.
