WHO’S GOT DAH SKOOOOOOOP? I heard somebody say on the JB thread that it was Chalkdusty?
whoa…yeah it’s REAL Chalkdusty. and it’s pretty frickin badass. great lyrics too. something like “won’t go back to kill devil falls/ learned that lesson/ this time will be different” sounds like they’re letting it be known that they fully plan on taking shit over.
this is starting to really hit me…holy fuck…they are BACK.
wow!! this sounded NATTY on the live feed last night
just getting to this song now…
does have a chalkdust groove going in the start of the song
def a rocker type tune
DEF very “Chalkdusty”…I do like it. Sounds pretty good to me.
First rock song in a long time.
I like it!
^Nice
Ok, I think I’ll be the first to say this: the jam half of this song, at the peak, they ARE playing the Chalk Dust heat. It’s the exact same shit. Listen to the peak of the solo/jamming in KDF and then listen to any Chalk Dust right around the peak. Identical!
this time will be different, till I do it again!! one my fav lines.
Badass song. Love it!
3 words: KILL DEVIL FALLS! Song fucking kicks ass!
damn damn damn, i love it.
I just finished listening to the second rendition of Kill Devil Falls (6/5/09) and was pleased to find it wasn’t another Chalkdust jam. Chalkdusty still? Yes. But if I wandered into the room I wouldn’t think it was Chalkdust.
Either way, this song is pretty awesome.
great song!!! the new ones havn’t dissapointed yet!
yeah 2nd time around and it’s a different and superior beast!
This song is awesome.
we now have a KDF “Classic”
6/12/09
KDF > Free
Probably my favorite new Phish song next to Stealing Time & TTE
I was listening to the No Spoilers, looking at how they’d just laid down obvious great jam after obvious great jam, and expected KDF to pass like Faulty Plan and Alaska. Imagine my surprise when it didn’t. It kept going and going, went god knows where before finally hitting Free.
It was amazing to hear Phish use a new song as the centerpiece jam vehicle at a major, non-Phan-oriented show. This performance has some historical significance; they put enough faith in their new song to do that, and it WORKED. We had the Camden Sand, the Asheville Ghost, but the Bonnaroo Kill Devil Falls means one thing… Phish 3.0 is officially here.
^ yes! i was thinking that same thing!
