Anyone get this before? I’ve got crappy eyes and have to wear either my contacts or my glasses 24/7 to see any decent distance and I’m fairly tired of them. I’m trying to go online and get educated and stuff and then stumbled onto this one website that is FILLED with horror stories of folks whose vision is far worse than it was before the surgery. Anyone here get it? What did ya think?
I don’t wear glasses or contacts, so I don’t have to consider it.
I know a couple people who got it done.
They love the result and speak very highly of it.
I guess it depends on what your trying to “fix”.
Personaly, I don’t know.
But everyone I’ve talked to that has had it done are very happy they did it.
i know two people that have had it down…perfect results.
^they went to windsor.
^eye surgery leads to alcoholism?
‘tis a cryin’ shame
Yes I had it done! I love it! It has been 4 yrs now and I can see great. It took ten mins each eye. It didn’t hurt. I could see perfect the next day. And I don’t have to wear glasses any more. I was near sighted! Now I can see great shows at Red rock and I don’t have to be front row! It’s a beautiful thing! I say go for it.
My uncle (~55) had it done last year and raves about it everytime I see him. I’ve heard it’s better the later in life you get it, as your eyes still manually adjust when you are younger. I cannot site a cource on that though.
I worked for an eye doctor for almost 3 years. LASIK is generally a successful proceedure and the results are a breath of fresh air to most. There are however, as with any type of proceedure, possbile complications and of course risks. The key is not to pick your opthamologist by price!!! Remember, you get what you pay for. There’s a guy around here who does it for $600/eye and when the average cost is much higher, people are all about it. However, this guy has lost his license in one, possibly two states and has now moved on to Alabama. We saw one of his former patients who came to us because somehow during the proceedure, not sure if it was unsterile instruments or what, but he got an infection that almost blinded him. He had to come to our office once a week for months to repair the damage. There are definitely instances where freak things happen and the results are not optimal, but those are very much in the minority. More than likely, you’ll be better than ever after all is said and done. Just make sure you know the track record of the doctor you use. You don’t have to pick the most expensive one, but for fuck’s sake, don’t automatically pick the cheapest. Good luck, hope it goes well.
four of my mom’s friends had it done. it worked out great for three out of the four. they screwed up one eye on the fourth woman. she had to wear a cup on her eye for six months and go back in for a secnod surgery. she still sees bright spots and has a slight halo in her vision. this was about 5-7 years back though and i’m sure mistakes are getting rarer and rarer. they all used different docs as well, so i’d do research into the one you are considering.

Oh I get it.
The guy got laser surgery, but in a literal sense he shot his friend through the face!
I actually have a gigantic ass. :-*
no no, i think they’re both getting shot at the end. they’re talking about laser eye surgery and then a sniper shoots them. right?
But look at the guy in the red shirt.
He goes back, and to the left.
Ah, thanks for the comments guys. I’ve been hearing a lot of positive stuff about the docs in Windsor (I believe that Dr. Tayfour is the biggest name) so maybe I’ll get an appointment. I would just be correcting my near-sightedness, nothing too complicated. Also, nice to know my thread has been hijacked…I think that’s a first for me. I feel so proud…sniff…

Wait, THE Doctor Tayfour. Didn’t he get accused of burning out a bunch of people’s eyes and almost kill that one guy, but got off on a techinicallity? I though there was an ABC speical on him.
Oh wait, maybe I’m thinking of Dr. Kavorkian. Carry on.
