I know I know, “Phish doesn’t have a bad song.” This is not to pick a bad song, just your least favorite. A song can be your least favorite, but you still like it.
I agree with Cletus. Lets go out to dinner and see a movie, Lets go out to dinner and see a movie, lets go out to dinner…and see a movie, lets go out to dinner and see a movie.
Now I do not mean to start any fight here, would just like to point out my opinion on Dinner and a Movie. I personally love this song. And if the reason you do not like is because of the lyrics, what about the other songs that are on Junta? “David Bowie/UB40”, “Divided Sky the wind blows high”, “Wash uffize drive me to firenze”, “Lets go out to dinner and see a movie”.
My only point is that Phish was not focusing on lyrics. They were focusing on music.
Dinner and a Movie was the song that first grabbed my attention the first time I heard Phish when Junta was being played in the background. Let’s just say after I heard that song, Phish was never “background music” again…
i’d say divided sky. on the album i do enjoy the crispness of the sound. but i really don’t jazzed up when i hear it on disc or live. although rosemont horizon was pretty sick in 95. but it just rubs me the wrong way. to rebut the contact dislike (i’m sure a lot of you are reading this thinking"how can he dislike divided sky") the bass lines are sick. and DAAM has the ooohs and aaahs in it and how fun is that.
i used to give this album for xmas gift to people back in mid 90s… then take it back from the people and listen to it… and i have to say… all songs are wonderful…
still wish phish would release fall tour dates… or at least a reunion already…
hahhahhahahhahaaha oh willie, you crack me up!! for some reason that was totally hysterical i dont know why. but i do laugh at a lot of things, mostly everything.
how can you not like dividede sky? is that possible? and foam? i love foam? and icculus is a song. how coud it not be? but yeah, union federal what the hell is that. thats my least favorite.
I have not listened to this album in forever. Is ‘Union Federal’ the entire “Blob” of the Oh Kee Pa Ceremony, or just a section of it? I am willing to bet if they released the entire thing in some form, that section may make more sense. Well, not really sense, but will flow better. Maybe I don’t know what I am talking about… In my mind it is kind of like “Montana” on ALO.
