“Water in the Sky”.
Any other album and this would fit perfectly (thinking Farmhouse). But this was the era of the funk, and this song does not say funk to me.
Never understood why people dont like Wading. I agree its not the greatest encore. They played it on 12-31-02 at the garden and totally killed the end of a great first show back. However, Ill never forget watching page break down during the wading at coventry. It still brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it afterwards and i will always love this song for that one moment.
As far as a least favorite I also have to say water in the sky. It really just sounds out of place with the rest of the album

Water in the sky. It has a pretty title and lyrics, but something about it is just…bleh. I agree that it often ruins the flow of a show. I have it on Live Phish 17 and I skip over it everytime. It’s the one knock I have against the show. How the hell do you play this between Wolfman’s and Moma Dance?! Wouldn’t a segue between the two, and then Water, be so much better?
^ I agree that a wolfman>moma dance then water in the sky would have ,probably, worked out better. But i actually like the song Water in the sky. It is ,for lack of a better word, peppy. As for my least favorite i would say Meat, and i don’t even know why.
Don’t excommunicate me… Guyute is my least favorite. It’s a great composition, but I’ve just heard it SO many times.
Oh, and Water in the Sky is awesome compared to the way they first played it. I love that Rift-esque paradiddle beat.

Agreed. I’ve never liked this as much as other albums, but it’s good.
