Listen Here PA!!!

^ You’re not going to be happy until Brett is trampled to death by a herd of Hippo’s. That’s your problem Glenn.

lol

I’m mostly just playin’

^ That dude shoulda had a hand grenade instead of a two-way radio!

I don’t know what’s more ethically correct here, supporting the outright destruction of animals for consumption and use, or capturing them for extended torment for our amusement…

Actually I WOULD be okay with this. I still think we should do some sort of War Games with death-row prisoners where we throw them into this huge, enclosed prison with cameras and let them kill each other like in Running Man. That’d be awesome.

He likes his women like he likes his chicken. All legs with a little meat on em…

Yes, but at least they have people who legitimately care for the animals and try to keep them happy. You could technically say the same for anyone who has a pet cat or dog or whatever. The cat or dog would likely prefer freedom but as long as you are kind to them, they seem to enjoy life. I know my cat has it made…she’s got me wrapped around her finger…err…paw.

I definitely don’t agree with hunting one bit, but Fone does have a point. And Stevo, a dog or cat is MUCH different than a dolphin. Instead of swimming free in the ocean, free to frolic and do as they please, eat when they want to, jump when they want to, etc, they are taken into captivity from their natural environment and put into a tank where they are forced to repeat aka “train” until they can do shit on command. Then they spend the rest of their lives doing these tricks to make people money until they’re too old to do them. At this point, they are too domesticated to return to the wild and live out the rest of their days in a tank or get put to sleep.

Glenn, is that Discovery Cove in Orlando? I went there with my family in May and it kinda looks like it.

^Small world. We were there the last Thursday in May, the 29th maybe? I don’t remember the names of the 2 we worked with. Swimming with the rays was probably the most intimidating thing to me. I knew they couldn’t hurt me, but I swear when I was swimming with like 30 of them all coming right towards me, I think I had a small heart attack. Still, easily one of the coolest things ever.

A funny aside. My mom’s car has automatic seat heating and it’s always been my joke that I turn it on to fuck with whoever’s driving. It takes patience because they won’t feel the heat for several minutes but whenever they do and they yell “Ollie!”, I burst into laughter and oh how my heart sings! So my mom is sitting up front and my dad was driving. She thought she’d be cute and turn on my dad’s seat warmer. Somehow, she knocked the car into 4wd and we couldn’t get it out. Actually I think it was stuck somewhere between 4wd and normal because the car wouldn’t do anything when my dad hit the gas. So after a long day of swimming and being in the sun, we spent 30 minutes in the parking lot of Discovery Cove while my mom is on the phone with the Lexus dealer trying to figure out why the hell the car won’t go anywhere. Good times

ICC is generally correct. It’s surprising how much zoos and other such places are REALLY obssessive about caring for the animals and about raising money and awareness over the destruction of their habitats. I’ve seen a number of stories in which the animals in the zoo were in fact rescued because their habitat was being destroyed or they were found wounded or dying and were nursed back to health.

In our Detroit Zoo, they recently moved the elephants to a West Coast zoo because they recognized that the habitat they were keeping the elephants in wasn’t big enough for the elephants…so now the zoo is without the elephants which were a big draw but they did it for the sake of the animals. I’ve noticed a number of changes in our local zoo with more and more improvements to the areas where the animals are allowed to stay. They clearly do care for the animals.

And don’t forget it’s very tough in the wild. Many animals just die naturally due to predators, a lack of food, or many other factors. It’s a struggle every day to find and hunt food for many types of animals, not to mention hunters and environmental destruction. Yes, they lose their freedom but their food and health is taken care of them…it’s a carefree lifestyle.

Same with the dolphins, they’re constantly rewarded with fish in every performance which makes them more than happy to do the simple tricks that they perform which barely take any effort at all for these animals.

The ciiiiiirrrrr-cle…the circle of life.

i’d be in a zoo if somebody would take me

like how in slaugher house five, the aliens take the guy and put him in a zoo like thing, he gets an attractive companion to mate with, and just flat out lives it up

sounds like a nice vacation, i’d do a week or two

I don’t know why but this made me laugh a lot. Good Lord…

Yeah, what about Ling Ling, the panda? They were throwing ladies at him all the time. Must be nice.

Stevo

Sounds like prison!

^or a steady job with benefits.

^^ ^BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jaw and Dr B, folks. They’ll be here all week.

naw you didn’t drive him from the board. no way.

in fact, I think the most memorable part of this thread is you getting OWNED…man the bustout of those pictures of you riding those poor, prisoner dolphins after talking about the treatment of animals was classic.

::feels the breeze::

killing animals on a safari is just plain wrong.

i automatically disdain anybody who kills a lion.

wouldn’t it be cheaper just to get the penial implants?

It depends on who your tour guide is or how big you want your junk, I suppose.
