hope you guys tune in, I believe the stream for Trey is to start around 5:20 pm est according to the website, I guess this is a recording of yesterdays performance according to the Norport Folk Schedule Trey played yesterday and had an hour long slot so this stream won’t be a long one.

enjoy, i know I am, going to listen to this then heading to the TLA to see Mike, woot!

oh ps. levon helm is on before trey he comes on @ 4:10 pm, saw him open for Phil back in June and enjoyed it a lot so be sure to give levon a listen as well. I believe Levon’s stream is a live stream.

im off, heading to a friends to listen to the stream then to the city for cactus

enjoy the tunes

this stuff sounds pretty good

I always like “Lawd, you don’t know the shape I’m in”

good song.

I’m pumped to hear these two new songs!!

Thanks for pointing this out. Started right at 4:20 here in the central timezone. I guess NPR couldn’t talk Jimmy Buffett into a live webcast thing. I understand. It might take away from his album or ticket sales. Every penny matters when you’re barely scraping by. Oh well. Some of us are lucky enough to enjoy Trey’s set from yesterday.

The fast Water In The Sky is my favorite, but Trey can play it at any speed he wants as long as he just plays it.

the lyrics to this Let Me Lie song are so damn cheesy, but I like how Trey delivered it better this time compared to Rothbury.

and woah, now he’s playing Bouncing. This is a mistake, I think. The whole song is based on the layering of vocals with Page and Mike. oh well.

that Heavy Things was pretty sucky…

Nice, Trey’s being more aggressive with this BOTT than he was at Rothbury

I lost my connection and now I can’t get it to play again. It just keeps buffering and buffering and buffering. That’ll teach me to fuck around.

All of Jimmy Buffett’s concerts are broadcast live on his Margaritaville website, so I was wrong. Maybe he signed a contract with himself about webcast concerts.

Mine crapped out in the middle of Farmhouse and wouldn’t stop buffering. Not sure what the deal was. Apparently about half the people listening it worked for and the other half it didn’t… oh well.

I dunno, Eli, I kind of like the slowed, shuffle-down version of “Water in the Sky” myself. Fast is good, too. But the slower version is catchier, IMO.

Train rocks…I love this trey acoustic shit

etree link source sounds killer

As opposed to?

I was there and I had a really great time. To be honest, I had other shit to do so I only saw in entirety Richie Havens and Trey, but I heard several bands for at least a few minutes, and Trey totally stole the festival from everything that I heard Saturday. I did leave early because it started raining like hell, so I ended up being stuck in the rain for an hour. However, it was a cool experience and I really enjoyed myself. I had no idea Newport was that nice. Also, on my way home I stopped in Bridgeport and listened to Phil’s set for a bit.

sick setlist I with I went.

Please don’t tell me you missed Jim James set!?

I’ve been listening to that one and its crazy good.
M. Ward played with him.
I’ve been listening to MMJ alot lately, can’t wait to see them this fall.

How was Richie?
I just saw him with my Dad and he sounded great.
That guy is a living legend and has the biggest hands I HAVE EVER SEEN.
He bar chords with his thumb for crying out loud.

Trey is really getting it together and I think this is exactly what he needs.
Just him the guitar. He sounds great.

I’m really happy for him and excited to see what the future holds.

I did catch a few songs in Jim’s set and it was off the hook. Richie was also really great. I did just notice on Saturday how he uses his thumb to play bar chords, haha. It seems that he is more focused on strumming patterns and vocals and such rather than improvisation, because the guy who was on stage with him did all of that, but he was still really good.

And Trey was just fantastic. Have you ever had a moment with any members of Phish during a show where they look over at you and you smile and then they smile back at you and you’re SURE that they are looking at you? That happened on Saturday during Back On The Train and it was amazing.
