Listening Levels

Was just wondering about this since I generally crank the volume on just about any type of music I’m listening to when I’m alone. When Marie’s anywhere near, the volume is down to barely a whisper, or else I’ve got portable headphones on.

Just wondering how everyone else listens to their tunes.

i like it loud but i don’t always like to be an asshole.

because there are enough douchepumps driving around with shitty music playing loud enough to hear from 3 blocks away so if i’m listening to some kind of Pearl Jam or Rancid or Phish or something that others might find a bit harsh, i keep it a bit to myself most of the time, unless i’m in a completley “fuck the world, been working for 13 hours straight” mode of insanity.

the only thing i won’t turn down because of other people is the Grateful Dead as i feel that everybody should be okay with it.

LOUD when I’m alone. SO fucking loud…

Thursday night I had the house to myself and the first thing I think about when I have the house to myself is…I GET TO PLAY SHIT LOUD! It’s either straight to my guitar or straight to the massive sound system we have in our house. I had some Aug. '93 PUMPING Thursday night, MIKEY was throwing some BOMBS!

And if anyone is around me, I throw the headphones on and listen to them equally as loud, which I know I should stop. That isn’t good for your ears.

Well normally I like to play all my shit reallly loud. Sometimes I worry if it’s upsetting my housemates…then when I hear them blastin’ their shit at 10am when I’m sleepin’ I don’t give a shit so itsa’ll good!

Loud when my immediate neighbors aren’t lights out. I’d love to move to the middle of nowhere where I could blast my tunes all the time.

(edit for rockin’ smiley)

I’ve been asked to turn down my music from the people who live below me a few times.

Twice in one night, one time. I had the bass cranked way up and I was listening to a 97 or 98 Phish show. I put something in between the floor and the bass speaker so I think that helps. But other than that I can play it pretty loud. Which is good.
