^ all solid post-hiatus shows, those are pretty much what i’d pick too. i would also strongly suggest 6/24/04.
about all the pre-hiatus stuff is great though. 12-7-97 and 12-1-94 being my favs. in fact, get 12-1-94…i love that show. and the filler they put on there is great too.

Naw, but I have it on disc… it’s definitely for the hardcore fan if it is to be appreciated so you should get it… it’s interesting if nothing else. ‘Bag’ and ‘Antelope’ are the only songs that resemble their final forms… Divided Sky and others I guess but I can hardly consider any 1:16 track a true Divided Sky.
I am facing the same question right now. I think I am goign to go with the Shorline show though just because of the the pre-haitus stuff I have the least from that tour.
Also, has any else had the site slow way down for them, and sorta start freezing up since they ut up those individual song downloads? It goes so damm slow and jerky for me now. I just have to remember that 6 7 years ago that was how a top of the line internet connection was.
It’s pretty boring, the tour I mean. That show is great, though. I have the last 8 shows from the tour, and besides a few songs (Walfredo 9/30, Roses Are Free 10/01, etc) it bores me pretty badly aside from 10/07. But yeah I’d take 10/07/00 over the white tape.

great call, i think 10/7 is an all-around good show. I particularly love the “Bathtub Gin” from this show! sweet jam!!!
I’ll definitely say I like the first set way better. Solid albeit not the most unique Mike’s Groove, that Gin as you said is good, and I always love a Fee, especially a well played one. I looked in my library and realized I’m not crazy… between '97 and '00 I have 34 “My Souls.” I have 31 You Enjoy Myselfs from that period… that song was way overplayed. Glide was also appropriate for this show. Favorite song from the night was definitely YEM though.

I thought it was GREAT, but you won’t find me in the camp that proclaims it the best ever. The longest version of a song does not automatically make it the best version ever.
This is true, but I think a healthy 90% of the time when Phish played a song for that long it meant a great, great version of it. Case in point?? The 20 minute Mike’s Song from 12/31/95.
longest doesn’t equal the best either. Think Tube: 12/7/97 vs. 6/24/04. IMO the 12/29/94 Bowie isn’t my favorite.
edit! I think you should get 2/26/03, then 7/29/03.
12/31/02 is pretty good to me though.
