Livephish downloads vs. dry goods cds

I’m trying to clear up some confusion. Maybe your ears can help me…
If you downloaded the Hampton run from livephish.com and purchased the actual cds from Dry Goods, is the audio quality the same or are the cds better.??? Not mp3 vs. lossless, but sdbrd vs. remastered sdbrd.

A few weeks ago, when the Hampton run was starting pre-order, the web site said the cds were going to be REMASTERED. I called dry goods to clarify weather or not the downloads were indeed a different version from the hard copy cds. They weren’t sure… and advised me to call back in a few hours. I called back and the guy said, “If you downloaded the flacs, they are the same as the hard cds.”
I just called today and the girl said they are remastered. She said they’ve gone back in the studio and fixed 'em up.

Is this true? Can anyone verify for me.

I would assume that they would be remastered. Lets just say to get it to the volume i like it i had to turn the stereo up above 40 while usually with lp releases i could turn it up to 32 and it sounds great. So yeah i would guess that they would be remastered. I don’t really know. This post was kinda pointless i guess. haha

Anyone download the free mp3s then buy the cds?

I guess I’m the only critical ear on this…? Here’s what I got from livephish.com:

Dear David,
Sorry for any confusion.
The CDs from both sites are the identical Fred K. remastered version. He took the original masters and remastered them for the CD version.
The mp3 and flac downloads are the same versions that were posted within hours of the show. They are not the Fred K. version.

So YES, the CDs are indeed remastered and will sound way better than the mp3s or the flacs that are available for DL. The Phish John that I am will now fork out cash to the Phish merch whore and buy my new ear CANDY! ;D I love these remastered sound boards… HOLY SHIT!

I am more than happy with the AUD’s that circulate…
