I was born and raised on Cape Cod, here in Massachusetts. It’s a beautiful place in the summer if you don’t mind the influx of tourists. In the winter there isn’t much going on, but Boston and Providence are about an hour and half away. Housing is pretty expensive. Condos usually run between $190,000 to $500,000, and Houses range from $350,000 to $1,000,000+. One major plus is that there are lots of Phishheads!

If I’m right, I think yem was referring to the FARRRRR Left people. Anyone WAY conservative or WAY liberal can’t really be taken seriously, because their strong personal bias gets in the way of thinking about an issue objectively. That is the key. I agree that most people on this board probably lean left, some more than others, but anyone insanely one way or the other can be “too far in the forest to see the trees” in my opinion.

There’s a reality, and I’m not talking about the “moderates’” position either, that dissolves the illusion of being “right” or “left”. I can’t really tell you how you get there, because you have to want to get there yourself. All I can tell you is that it exists.

Pros: Spacious, lots of outdoor activities, beautiful surroundings, almost universally friendly population, close enough to Seattle to go catch a show, far enough away to avoid everything else.
Cons: The biggest event of the year is the rodeo, it gets windy as fuck in the spring and cold as fuck in the winter.
First off, Leon Russell Kick Ass! Mad Dogs & Englishmen were one of the best bands ever. I’ve seen him a couple of times around Chicago, such a great voice. Him and Joe Cocker need to play together again.
I’m with you on the whole gotta get there yourself thing. That’s why I’m registered Independent.
I missed 3 golden opportunities to see Russell in the past two months. He was at the legendary Stone Pony twenty minutes from my house in December and I missed him because of a lame Christmas party. Then I missed a show outside of Cherry Hill because I wasn’t looking.
In March he’s on a bill with Dave Mason at the Keswick Theater outside of Philly and I had 2 primo seats in my sights three weeks ago but hemmed and hawed until it was too late. Now those tickets are only available through brokers at 250 a piece. I’m kicking myself daily for this mistake.
btw, I have a post that I started writing for the OKP about seeing Cocker with Russell and MDE the year after the original Woodstock, but I can’t find the damn thing.

The first concert I ever saw was Joe Cocker.
My father took me to see him when I was 15 and it changed my life forever. I have a story about that as well. It’s a little cheesy, I need to rewrite it since it was 15 years ago. My father introduced me to so much and never held me back for experiencing life and all it has to offer. I can only imagine what my life would be without him as my father. Probably listening to Limp Biscuit or some crap like that.
God I love my Father.

How the hell would you know? I grew up, most of my childhood in Jersey and yes the drivers sucked even then and its worse now but there are decent drivers. Just don’t assume everyone sucks. But the majority does.
