I’m all about Kate too…she’s the best. They’ve been trying to ham up the sexiness with Juliet too but her face just seems EEEEVIL…I can’t get with it. (By the way, she got nude in that Gigi or Gia film that Angelina Jolie did way back when. Hawt).
Don’t read ICC…spoiler spoiler. In fact don’t even read this entire post. I usually skip this thread altogether if I haven’t seen an episode.
Anyway, from Lostpedia, the date of the tombstone was the date of the crash…which implies that he certainly didn’t make it off the island…he’s going to die on the island somehow.
Also, one thing that seemed like a throwaway scene but probably wasn’t was Bernard talking about karma. I’ve felt that karma has always been a BIG part of the show and this was the first time they actually addressed it. Even the Others were looking for “good people” and didn’t care if they killed the “bad” folks. Even Ben once said that he didn’t try to kill Locke because he’s a “good person.” Of course, Bernard mentions that may have changed since Ben has now killed someone (he never killed anyone before). He also mentions how Jin could be a good guy after he catches the fish but we know from Jin’s past that he wasn’t the greatest guy even if he’s changed his ways. And then we find out he’s dead at the end so that means his bad karma may have been the end of him.
We even saw the island itself take matters into its own hands when (I think it was) the Island in form of Mr. Eko’s brother told Mr. Eko to seek forgiveness for his sins and Mr. Eko refused since he believed he was justified…and sure enough the Black Smoke (representing the island, I think) kills him. To me, a big part of the show is the good person-bad person thing and that often addresses people’s fate.
Overall, some of the episode was boring since the Jin/Sun stuff usually is but that was pretty evil of them to show Jin as a flashback but make us think it’s a flashforward. I should have known when Jin started saying “I’ll kill you” when that dude drove off the panda in the cab…it didn’t fit the current Jin but it did fit the old Jin.
As for Michael, there’s still questions. I think that Ben has somehow blackmailed Michael by either kidnapping Walt again or maybe threatening Walt’s life once they reached the mainland to make Michael get on that tanker. I think it’s the latter since there’s no way that Michael could have just sailed up to the tanker in his little boat and asked for a janitor job and had them completely trust him. He had to have been hired when the boat left the mainland so he could have been in the crew the whole time. Which means he DID make it to mainland but somehow Ben got him to go on that tanker.
This also shows how I think that we’ll never see Walt because, as we saw when he talked to Locke, in real life Walt is MUCH older and yet it’s only been a few months in the life of the show. Unless they find some other actor who kinda LOOKED like Walt, there’s no way they can bring Walt back in the real world (in the visions it’s okay since it’s just a vision and it don’t matter if he looks older).
Then there’s the issue with the false plane. It’s hard to say who you believe. Both Widmore, Dharma, and Ben have the resources to do it and both are basically accusing each other of stuff. It’s hard to say who to believe since both are pretty evil.
A friend of mine did suggest that the diary Widmore got from the Black Rock may have mentioned the Others who appear to have not aged. If it mentioned that, then maybe Widmore would be searching for a fountain of youth kind of thing.
Either way, the show is moving along well…it’s a shame there’s only like two or three new ones left. That’s gonna suck.
