Well then, as always, more questions than answers. I’m liking the flash-forward dynamic that has been created, giving a glimpse of what is to come, leaving us to wonder how they got there. And why didn’t Hurley say that Jack had a ‘HO’ when shooting hoops, I for one was waiting for it.
as always indeed…still i was enthralled.
i guess we did find out that only 6 of them make it off the island?
i’m still confused by how twice now hurley’s “imaginations” have physically interacted with him…
But in finding out about the 6, we are left to wonder: which 6? They give you a little to keep you coming back for more, damn drug pushers!
Physical interaction…hmmmm…maybe similar to the split personality in Fight Club, when Norton was fighting himself and throwing himself around. Maybe Hurley is creating the visions himself, and having conversations with himself, and slapping himself.
So is Locke in tight with Jacob now?
Is it Thursday yet?
yeah so i take it Hurley, Jack, Kate and three other members made it off the island, one of whom died and thats who jack went to see at the parlor, my guess is that the dead guy in the casket was Locke
From the Lost wiki:
While playing horse with Hurley, Jack gets the letters “H” and “O”. “H” is the 8th letter of the alphabet and “O” is the 15th - 815
^My guess was Locke in the coffin as well or maybe Ben (both would likely have no one at their funerals). And Jack has had a like/hate relationship with both. And Kate would have no interest in their deaths either as she said.
Still, I’d have to say that was the first episode that centered around Hurley that was quite good. Gotta love the fast-forward stuff they’re doing now. This make me wonder…will the show end with them finally getting off the island? Maybe they get off at the end of this season or next and then spend the last season trying to go back and take care of whatever issue it is that they seemed to have left behind. Plus the whole thing of “wonder if I’ll tell?” from Hurley makes you wonder what the heck went down. I’d say it’s pretty clear and some folks did NOT leave the island.
A few things…not only was Hurley’s hallucinations interacting with him, but remember, Hurley’s crazy friend who was playing Connect-4(!!) with also saw Charlie. Of course that could be explained away by his friend also being crazy or that Hurley imagined his friend pointing out Charlie…we know that Hurley is at least somewhat crazy with the imaginary friend that he had. Of course, remember that multiple people can see visions on the island. In the episode where Shannon died, both Sayid and Shannon saw the vision of Walt. So the vision of Charlie is island-related.
As for the guy in the cabin, I was listening to a local radio show Drew and Mike this morning and they said that after pausing it, the person that Hurley saw in the chair was Jack’s Dad. Just leads to more questions about dead people and dead Dads and stuff.
Plus there’s the creepy bald dude who visited Hurley. Someone called into the radio show and said that his last name was “Abadon” which in some cultures either means Death or the Devil…obvious that dude is bad news.
Also, one of the guys on the show said that he saw a sneak preview of next week and that it’s even better than this one.
Nice to see the show taking off…I know I’m hooked.
Stevo
flash forward is the new flashback!
idunno, i think locke’s ex-woman would come to the funeral at least (peggy bundy)…my first instinct was that it was ben in the casket…i guess whether it’s locke or ben it seems like jack is question his “faith” in science and realizing his outlook was wrong…
i love hurley episodes, they’ve all been great, imo.
and what about the ‘eye’ that popped into the window and scared hurley shitless? i guess that was locke?
that bald black dude reminded me a little too much of the guy from the shining (a skinnier, MUCH creepier version)
only six more days til we get more answers questions!!!
yeah black dude reminded me of the poltergeist guy as well
yeah i think the eye that popped into the window was locke
figure it’ll build this season up to the end of it where they show this new group of outsiders coming in and killing a bunch of the cast then they kind of continue that for the beg of the next season, do the whole make it home thing and a want to go back>end the show
The Oceanic 6!
Jack
Hurley
?
?
?
?
Who could the reamining FOUR be? Not Des because he was not an Oceanic Survivor. I have a sneakin suspicion that Michael and Walt could also be part of this Oceanic 6.
You are probably wondering why i did not write down Kate’s name. Well how could she be one of the Celebrity Oceanic 6 and not be in Jail? I believe 5 people got off the island and that will be an important factor in the future. iv’e always had a theory that Des and Hurley may be the 2 most important characters on the show. All the episodes with them as the focal point i believe have more significance than any other characters. I believe this because the Island wants Des there. The Island will not let him leave. I also believe that the Island wanted Hurley and the rest of flight 815 were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. See Jack keeps going on planes to get back and cannot. I believe if Hurley embarked on the same mission he would be successful. Last nights episode was fantastic and a great sign of things to come. By the way the Black Dude that visited Hurley is none other than Col. Daniels from the WIRE!
Sidenote: Why can’t thry tell about the rest of the survivors? Did Jack do something Michaelesque?
my girl pointed this out to me when i mentioned him
me too! they’ve gotta get back into the story at some point
I AM!!!
idunno…you make a pretty good point, but do we know how public her fugitive/criminal status really was before the crash?
after watching season 3’s finale and 4’s premier, in a period of just a few hours (in island time) jack threatened to kill at least 3 people (Ben, Locke, and Fake-Beard-Guy, who Sawyer promptly took care of)
Capitol crime with agents hunting her down in Australia! I’d say thats pretty high profile.
fuckin serious no doubt
but was it publicized?
i guess so actually if the dude putting her up in oz snitched on her…must’ve seen her face somewhere on the tellie
Wow, I’m completely lost.
Seriously tho I enjoy the show but I never am able to watch it with any consistency. I work most nights its on and can only watch snippets. I did see at least half the show last night :
i know jack, hurley, and kate made it. remember the end of season 3 when jack called kate to meet him by the airport? he was drunk and it was raining? i love this show!! only bad thing is that there are only 8 episodes this season. damn strike. and the guy that paracheuted down that kate and jack encounter, who is he? he seems so familiar. the previews for thursday’s episode looks awesome.
dude! ^!
well anyway ya I love where this thread is going…only one episode in and already I’m just obsessed.
the guy in Jacob’s house in the rocking chair was for sure Jack’s Dad, but the guy who popped up in the window might not be Locke.
but the thing that has been fucking with me is if Jacob’s house was actually real or not. Hurley got lost from the crew for about 2 seconds and suddenly he was at the house. The others people he was with shoulda been able to hear him.
fuck I’m drunk that was super tough to type out
the key to the episode was Hurley nd Jack playing horse and what specifically was said there.
They both say “he” wouldn’t want them to “tell” some secret. This implies that the “oceanic six” had to agree to not talking about the island after they got off safe.
But that leads to so many questions about who these people on the freighter with the helicopters are. What do they know about the Others that we don’t???
Here is who we know knows about the Island. The original Dharma initiative, The Losties, The Others that joined Henry in the Purge. I believe the people on the boat are a seperate entity and will eventually take control of the Island just as Dharma did and later Henry and the Other’s. I believe Jack and Hurley are part of a group that got off the island but at a great cost to their concience. Kate cannot be part of the oceanic 6 or else she would be in jail. It does make sense for her to want to get off the island if she could keep up the charade of her death and aninimity. Now who the other 4 of the 6 are is a mystery but here is my crazy theory on who one of them is!
My revelation was that one of those 4 is Dr. Christian Shepherd! Yes he is dead but we saw him sitting in Jacobs cabin and yes the Island has brought dead folks back to life. We have all been pondering who this mystery man that Kate is hooked up with in the future is right? Well it aint Sawyer And it aint Jack. Does Kate or Sawyer seem like the kind of person who would buy a Volvo? Get ready, sit down, fix a drink beacuse that man Kate is with in the future and has to get back to before he realizes Kate is gone and meeting Jack at the airport is Jack’s dad!!! Remember the scene from the season finale flashforward where Jack is told he is too drunk by the new head physician? Jack responds “Call my father down here. If i’m drunker than him i’ll leave” Remember the paranoia Jack had when he thought his dad and wife were getting it on in season 2? Well that paranoia has come full circle i believe but with the true love of his life, Kate! :o
You may disregard this as the nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind but i like my theory!
^You’ve got some dope theories buddy!!
Yeah I forgot about the part where Jack is drunk and the hospital, saying the other doctor should compare his Dad and him and see whos drunker. I think I was still thinking that could have been a flashback not a flashforward.
If that is a flashforward for sure than Jack’s Dad is alive!! ::mind blown::
All theories about Lost are acceptable until proven otherwise (and even that’s not a hard fact!).
I assumed that Jack was so very out of it that he thought his dad to be alive and working in the hospital still. Maybe it will come out that he is in fact “still” alive, having been ‘reborn’ on the island, in a fashion.
^Jack w/ a beard indicates flashforward, as we had never seen him with one before, and when playing around with Hurley, said, “Maybe I’ll grow a beard.”
The speculation and theories are what make this show great. Much more intrigue than who can sing gooder.
