LOST...Season 4 thread!!!

he was in saving private ryan. the translator.

I think the parachuters are after Ben because he led the purge against Dharma. They are funded either by Hanso or other parent company and are seeking retribution from Ben as a result of said purge.

As always, the more they answer, the more they leave you questioning.

Locke asked a great question (What is the smoke monster!?!?!), though I knew Ben would say he didn’t know! I couldn’t tell if he was lying though (I don’t think he was), but I was sure we wouldn’t get an answer on that one. Dammnit@!

The whole ‘other’ crash left me befuddled, however. Just plain WTF! So should they be ‘dead’, was the other crash staged? And if so, by who, and why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??

Sayid to the resuce, as always. He seems to flake out sometimes, but them BAM, here he comes to save the day!

I love this show.

haha, the smoke monster… who knows… Locke sure is tuned into the island but he seems a bit crazy if you ask me.

Yeah, definelty no the most stable/reliable lostie. He’s probably going to pull something stupid that will get people killed or something else worse. Whatever it is, it’s what Hurley regrets going with Locke for (H-O-R-S-E scene from 1st ep.)

HAH!

IT IS HIM

thanks for the saving private ryan reference. i was looking at the wrong guy from Rescue Dawn before. his character’s name was Eugene…i love using imdb to prove i’m right when my g/f says i’m wrong

ALSO, the dude from the Dharma videos is in Rescue Dawn too (he tried to get Christian Bale to sign a paper denouncing the US government {of course Bale was like fuck that shit]).

this guy:

Wow, not a lot of stuff revealed but a good episode for sure. Plus they did a good job of easing in the new characters (unlike when they had Nikki and Paulo just magically appear with the group last season then just did away with them in one pointless episode). The four new folks will probably be a big part of the next few seasons so I don’t mind if they spent a whole episode just to do an intro to them.

Lots of things…

For one, it seems to me like the plane was a fake. Obviously that pilot seemed to give us that impression. I wonder if the Dharma people planted it so as to put people off the trail so they don’t discover the island. Obviously there is some stuff on that island that they do NOT want people to find out and they’re doing everything they can to protect it.

For two, I’m sure they’re after Ben because he led the effort by the native Others to kill off all of the Dharma people. (By the way, anyone wonder where they got the photo of Ben? He’s supposedly never been off the island. Although, he could just be BSing people like usual and has left before…obviously the Walt/Michael thing proves that he knows how to leave the island). However, notice that Jack found a gas mask in that trunk at the start of the episode?..I wonder if these new folks are supposed to kill off everyone on the island in the same way that Ben killed off his Dad and all the Dharma people. I think Dharma wants to recover some stuff off that island and will kill everyone there to do that.

And I’m with you on how I swore that I had seen that Dan character in something before. I looked at his IMDB page and there was nothing that stands out but he’s been in a lot of stuff so he’s probably one of “those guys.” That new british chick is pretty cute too. More hot chicks on Lost is always a plus.

And I didn’t expect any answer on the monster…after all, Juliette had no idea what it was too. Plus I read an interview that the monster is going to be one of those mysteries that we don’t find out about until the very end. (Though it just seems to kill the bad and not kill the good people). Also I heard an interview with Ben on the radio yesterday and he said we won’t find out who’s in the coffin until the end either. Sigh…

I’m just glad that they’re focusing on more science fiction and action stuff and less on the character’s relating too each other. Even the tired Jack/Sawyer/Kate love triangle is being put on the back burner.

A few things:

The “creepy black guy” is one of the main characters on the best show ever, The Wire. He was also a great character on Oz.

Sawyer’s line about Locke being like Col. Kurtz from Apocolypse Now was probably the funniest line ever spoken on the show.

yeah teh col. kurtz was pretty funny, and quite true

First off the Dan character was in one of the most disturbing movies i have ever seen and every time i see him i am forced to relive the Horror of “Spanking the Monkey” If any of you have seen it you know what i’m talking about!

Next the Fuckin Lawnmower Man( Jeff Fahey) was supposed to be the Pilot of 815!!! Man they really do some grave diggin to find actors for this show and i love it!

Finally, i loved last nights ep! Now here is this weeks theory. Miles, Dan and the young lady seem to all be around the same age, late 20’s early 30’s. Could these be children of Dharma people who were killed in the Purge? We saw the girl at that dig in Tunisia and she smiled when she saw the Dharma emblem buried with the Polar Bear! Could Miles be the son of the man in the Video’s? Not sure what to make of Dan’s flashback.

On a side note i totally forgot that Parkman fron Heroes was the Pilot!

I think the eye is Miles, Ghostbuster Supeme! And did yall catch the reaction of Ben and John when Hurley claimed he saw the cabin!

yeah, that was a good reaction

B, you may be onto something with your theory, seems legit to me

I liked spanking the monkey! I always feel like there aren’t enough incest flicks out there.

As for Ben never being off the island, I think we can dispel that. Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t we told at one point that he was born there, and then when we got Ben’s back story we see him brought there by his father?

I don’t think that that is Miles’ eye posted above. Maybe Desmond, or maybe Jacob, but it doesn’t strike me at all as being Miles’.

The plane probably wouldn’t have been planted by Dharma, as I believe they had been wiped out long before 815 took to the skies. Maybe planted by the Others, but that seems far-fetched. Another mystery for sure!

I also have enjoyed the return to action. As the Losties were running throught he forest last night I thought to myself, "It’s been awhile since we’ve run through the jungle, as was a very common element (and a good one) early on in the series.

Is it thursday yet?

I like the idea of them being children of Dharmies.

I didn’t catch and wouldn’t have understood this reference^, but I definitely enjoyed Sawyer calling Ben “Yoda”

Can we really be certain of this? Locke saw Walt on the island after they supposedly left on the boat.

and what about Ben’s “man on the inside” he mentions at the very end of the episode?? Could that be Michael??

EDIT: does anyone else think the original pilot who got killed by the smoke after Jack and Kate found him in the wreckage inland is the same science teacher guy who gets destroyed by the unstable dynamite they find at Black Rock?? They look quite similar if its not… Not that that would be a big deal I guess.

and why was the original pilot the only person who actually gets killed by the Black Smoke? EKO had a power to control that smoke pretty much…

Yes, but that was a photo of ADULT Ben…he was brought on the island as a kid.

I always felt that Dharma was some powerful worldwide group with operations in all sorts of areas. I could be wrong, but this seems likely. I think that creepy bald dude in one of them.

I thought of this too but I figured that Michael was too much of a fuck-up to be able to get all that info and get it back to Ben…not to mention that there’s no way the tanker people would trust Michael enough to let him have access to it. Though, I guess with Ben’s help, he could pull it off. Still…now WALT…he might have a shot at doing it…especially with those wacky powers of his.

You mean Dr. Artz? If Dr. Artz is the guy’s real name, then they obviously don’t have the same name. How strange though…

Eko was killed by the black smoke too. And I think the smoke tried to kill Juliette in that one scene but that wacky barrier thing stopped it. I’ve always felt that the black smoke was the island’s way of eliminating “bad” people…Eko was only killed when he refused to repent to the image of his brother (I think the visions are the island taking form to communicate with people).

I think I was trying to answer a question about Ben never having been off the island, but when told that he wasn’t born on the island (as initially led to believe), I THINK we can assume that we had been misled about his past (by Ben, not the show itself-- confused yet?). As a result, Ben may very well have been off the island numerous times, and on one of the travels his ugly mug was snapped for the photo. Where, when? I have no idea. The Others had the ability to return to the ‘real’ world (I call it that because the island seems removed from known society) via the sub-- Richard Alpert recruited Juliette. I don’t think that it’s inconceivable that Ben went, at least once.

The more we learn, the more questions we pose!

Were the pictures on the wall (in the Lady from Inglewoods house) in different places when Miles left?

I think that Michael is Ben’s man on the boat. The island wouldn’t let Desmond leave, he just more or less circled the island and crashed on a different part of the island. How come Walt and Michael were able to just get on a boat and leave the island? How come Ben is so against people coming to the island, but he was fine with Walt and Michael just getting their own boat and taking off? I think there was some sort of “deal” reached between Michael and Ben. Where Ben knew that there would be this freighter out there looking for the island, and he wanted to make sure that Michael wouldn’t tell the “freighties” where the island was. Michael prolly told the freighties that him and his son were lost at sea, and they have no idea about a crashed airplane or island. He is prolly using a fake name so as not to be busted the the freighties and the pilot (lawnmower man) said that he knew the passenger manifest top to bottom. So yeah, I think that Michael is on the freighter and sending word to sending word to Ben (somehow, I don’t know how as the jammer just got turned off) about what the freighties are up to.

^^I think grandma just had numerous pictures of her (now dead) grandson. He may or may not play a role in the Lost story, but I think that whole scene was to introduce us to Miles and his abilities.

^Good theory. It wouldn’t suprise me if that’s kind of how things went down. I think whenever they show Michael next it will definitely be a “wow” moment in the story.
