LOST: The Final Season Thread!

5 years later I am just as “LOST” as ever. The Time Jumping and Biblical shit that has been going down has just completely blown my mind over the past 2 seasons. That being said I think it just comes down to
“Peace”. Jacob brings people to the Island to Test them. The man who is trying to kill Jacob(and it looks like he succeeded) was not happy with the way Jacob was running things. The people walking with Frank to get to Jacob seem to be his protectors and are affiliated with Richard we know. But they too walk with guns. It seems the only 2 people who “get it” are Rose and Bernard. They have truely adopted the Island wheather it treats them good or bad. 3 years they have been left alone to chill and it seems they could not be happier. I think that is what Jacob may be trying to achieve by bringing people to the Island. All I really know is this is the FINAL season. Each of us probably have so many questions it’ll be impossible to have them all answered.
My thoughts laely have been of Jon Locke. When I look back he truely is a pitiful soul. Trampled on and used his entire life. All by the people he held so dear. The latest betrayel finally cost him his life and leads tonthe eventual murder of Jacob by the man impersonating Locke. There is one scene that gives me hope for Locke. Jacob did visit him after he was thrown from the window and assured him he would be OK. I hope this is true.

I’m pumped.

I’m excited.

I’m scared.

I’m LOST.

End this sorry excuse of a show already.

Worst show passed off as art ever.

Shit yeah buddy. I’m getting cable hooked up on Saturday. I’m getting cable for 4 months, just so I can watch LOST, then it’s getting cancelled.

I really have no clue what’s about to happen. I’ve watched every season about 3 or 4 times now, and I still don’t get what’s in store. I bet you anything that episode one opens with them on Flight 815, but then what happens? Does the plane crash again? Do they get to L.A. and somehow still end up on the Island? Does Farraday’s plan work? Will all the original cast come back to life…Charlie, Locke, Claire (who I know is not dead), etc? What of Ben?

I know the writers said that they won’t be doing any flashback’s this season, but I want to know more about the history of Jacob and his nemesis. I want to know more about the history of the Island. Was it always there? Did Jacob create the Island? Obviously Jacob is some kind of god, but are there higher up gods that he answers/answered to? I gotta watch the last episode at least 10 times this weekend then maybe I’ll have a clue.

All I can tell you is, I’m fucking pumped!

Blasphemy. That’s like saying that Phish is the worst music passed off as art ever.

You too will be judged by the Island.

BLASPHEMY

I don’t really care if it’s considered “art” or not…all I know is it’s epic beyond belief.

I’m really excited as well. The final episode of season 5 was so freaking sweet. We finally see Jacob and how he affected all of the major characters on their journey to the island…I talked to some major LOST geeks who say that the Jacob v. Locke impersonator guy battle is definitely biblical reference, about two brothers… Cane and Abel are the only two biblical brothers I can think of though, and I don’t think that’s the one they were talking about.

I’m wondering how much Ben and Whidmore really know about all of this deeper stuff happening on the island, and the history of the island. Ben was definitely shocked that Jacob recognized “Locke” and said the “so you found your loophole” line. So I’m not sure if Ben even realizes what is really going down here…

Yep, pretty excited that it’s finally coming back. And well, glad that it’s finally coming to an end. At least now I will have answers to the questions that have haunted my for the last 5 years.
So many questions that I can’t list them here. But I watched the “recap” the other night, and it really got me excited as hell for the final season.
I just hope to all hell that this doesn’t end like The Sopranos. Where there is some bullshit ending that just has people guessing and drawing their own conclusions for months after the show ended.
I want it all spelled out for me nice and neat. Leave NOTHING unanswered, and don’t allow any room for me to speculate what might have happened.
And for the love of all that is holy, please tell me that Vincent is, in fact, God, and he is the one who brought everyone to the island to let them know that Dogs do, in fact, rule the world!!!

Vincent=Jacob

I love that theory…

I think the whole Jacob vs the other guy thing stems more from ancient Egyptian mythology than the Bible. Wikipedia: Sobek. There is also something in Egyptian mythology about how gods can’t kill each other, so if they want to kill a rival god they have to find a loophole, if you will, which basically means, getting a mortal to do their bidding.

Hank, could be Jacob and Esau?

i too am pumped for this. cant wait till tuesday.

going to be SICK

Wait, shouldn’t this be a topic in the EPIC SHIT thread

I will combine them in June.

^

I am fuckin STOKED for this…re-watching season 5 now…almost done…gonna be a hoot

Generally, we hit “mute” on the TV and use the commercial breaks to discuss what just happened on the show and formulate theories about it. :nerd:

I did the first few seasons on DVD and it is definitely fun to do 6 hours a night of straight LOST. But, I can’t wait that long and I will be pissed when I find out what happens from some douche at work so I am definitely watching every episode as it airs (although, I do use the 30 minute delay, tivo fast forward the commercials method).

Can’t wait. That shit is awesome.

will crazy Libby ever come back? I’d like to see the connection of how she got to the island, because that one scene (in season 2 I believe after Hurley and her have that little junior high dating thing going on) has always creeped me out where Hurley’s like “I feel like I know you from somewhere,” and then they show her like this ^, all twacked out in the same mental hospital as Hurley.

I know they mentioned her in a lame way when Hurley and Sayid are on the run on the mainland and “Anna Lucia” pulls them over and says “Libby says hi” :unamused:

and then didn’t she sell Desmond the boat that he ended up using to mistakenly get to the island?? I remember that scene too…

even though it will be intriguing to see what really happens when Juliet strikes that bomb and the screen goes white at the end of season 5, I’m more excited about tying loose ends up and finding out what the big idea is with Jacob/Whidmore/fake Locke/the BlackRock, etc…I guess all the Jack/Sawyer/Kate/Jin stuff has kind of lost it’s luster for me…

I am positively giddy with the anticipation of what this season will bring us. I made the attempt to rewatch the entire series to prep for season 6, but had to give up when I realized it impossible based on how many episodes I had left with very little time. I want to see it along with everyone else so that I can discuss.

2 brothers maybe Aaron and Moses?

In one of the first episodes, Locke tells Walt that Backgammon is the oldest known game, developed by the ancient Mesopotamians. He talks about the light side and the dark side with the black and white pieces…a theme which pops up a lot during season one. I have been wondering if the island may trace back to them.

Locke is by far the most important and intriguing character on this show. His journey over the course of all the seasons has been what I obsess over most. He is really the only one out of the primary characters, besides Hurley I suppose, that doesn’t have to repent for terrible things he/she has done. Like B said, he has been trampled and used his entire life. I hope that ultimately there is redemption for John Locke.

I think what the show will ultimately come down to is free will vs. destiny/fate/universal control with Jacob representing free will and the other man being the “control” side. There are underlying themes of this throughout the series, for example, the Pearl station where Dharma peeps were monitored while participating in psychological experiments. They felt that they had to perform these tasks, but, in all reality, they had the choice not to.
