lucid dreaming?

It’s kinda like the Matrix, eh?

As long as you don’t start lucid dreaming peeing… that could be messy.

I need to work on being lucid in the daytime before I work on being lucid at night. ::slight_smile:

I thought we had a thread about this…
Maybe not.

Check these threads out.

so cool.

^^see? i knew there was. searching is not one of my strong points i guess.

David Lynch is the master of the Dream sequence in movies. All these sequences are believable in that scene changes and character switches occur rapidly. Just like real dreams!

^ David Lynch is great at that too.

Fixed :-/

so, should I delete these last two posts then? Or are we going to keep these just for the record…in case anyone accuses me or you or murder between 2:54 PM - 2:56 PM on Dec 13, 2007?

Induces lucid dreams.

huh -

last night i had a dream that i was running down the street my house is on at home. every so often i would jump and soar up to 20 feet in the air and remain there going in the same direction for many seconds. they were extended and very tall jumps. eventually i got to a fence and was hesitant that i couldn’t make it over - i decided to try and made it right over. in the fence (i don’t remember exactly) i was talking to someone about what had just happened, explaining that i just had a lucid dream that i was jumping…but the weird part is i was never conscious of my consciousness in the dream so i DIDN’T actually have a lucid dream. i just dreamed that i dreamed that i had a lucid dream. i wasn’t conscious of it at all!

…i think that’s a step in the right direction, though. i’ve never dreamed about lucid dreaming before.

Watch Waking Life.

But don’t drink before hand, it may cause you to vomit

this is fuckin weird man. just two nights ago i had a semi-lucid dream. i kinda kept slipping in and out of it. then i had all these false awakenings, where i’d wake up in my bed, go ‘‘wow, that was a crazy dream’’ get up and then the dream would start over again. i ‘‘woke up’’ about three or four times before i actually, really woke up. so last night i went on amazon and searched books on lucid dreaming and ordered one. i haven’t been on the pah in several days and i check it out today and this thread was bumped.

i’ve been having lots of strange cooincidences and cool things happening lately. so far, this spring is good.

what book did you get?

i’ve been reading through Exloring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge. i recommend anything by LaBerge - he’s the expert on it.

it was by LaBerge, though i don’t remember the title. i think it was just called Lucid Dreaming. i’m excited to read it.

If you have a unique, strange dream one time, there may not be much to read into it.

But the same dream more than once…hmmm.

My recurring dream is that I’m driving along the road and suddenly there’s a huge bridge ahead. It rises up and becomes increasingly steep and narrow, with no guardrails or anything. It’s massive. Like GGB massive. The road gets more narrow, and I find myself navigating next to another car (last night it was a semi) in a panic, trying not to fall off the side. In looking over the edge it would appear the drop is several hundred feet into a river or some body of water.

It was actually quite harrowing, and I know I’ve had this same dream at least 3 times in the past year or so.

When I had the flu a few weeks back, I had one of the most frighteningly lucid dreams I ever had. I’m kind of embarrassed writing about it too because it was about a ghost trying to rape me from behind.

It was very, very strange, especially because my current thought at the time of falling asleep moved right into the dream, such that I felt like I was still awake. I normally sleep on my side, but because I was running a light fever, my body was kind of achy, so I turned over on my stomach, and was just lying there thinking about things when I felt this pressure on top of me, as if someone very heavy was laying on me.

It was immediately freaky because I knew it wasn’t Marie, the only other person in the house, because I could feel a bulge pushing at my butt region from above the blankets, and I immediately tried to lift my head to see what was going on, but couldn’t. This entity was holding me flat against the bed, and I could even lift me head to scream.

The worst part was really thinking that I was awake in the bed, just falling asleep as usual, but not being able to move or call for help petrified me. And then the idea that the person who was on top of me was actually my older brother, really freaked me out, but then actually gave me some idea that I was indeed dreaming, because I knew he couldn’t be there in reality.

After what seemed like almost a minute of shear terror, and of not being able to scream or get up, and feeling like someone was literally moving on top of me, I forced my eyes open and woke up.

I was breathing heavy and was really petrified, something that generally never happens to me in dreams anymore. I rationalized it away as being fever related, and so I got back to sleep and haven’t had anything near a recurrence of it or anything like it. But I will probably never forget it, either.
