500th homeruns from Ghey-Rod and Thome(?)- and hopefully soon, Manuel E. Ramirez.
3000 hits by Biggio.
oh yeah…!
Griffey Jr. is close I think, too. Oh and Frank Thomas hit 500 this year right?
Damn.
oops, just checked, Thome is on the doorstep -493- along with Mann-E. Thomas was the other to have passed it already.
The Rangers had 30 runs and no one mentioned it?
Yeah.
No one mentioned it.
Sowwy.
most runs scored by one team in a game in 107 years!!!
When I saw the score on the espn ticker I had to double check that it wasn’t a football score. Frickin’ 30!
^
Exactly. I thought the Texans had beaten up on the Ravens.
Then I wondered why they would put a measly preseason NFL score under the “breaking news” section of ESPNEWS.
As soon as I saw that score I knew I’d be hearing all night and all today:
“I thought it was a football score”
or
“That looks more like a football game”
about one hundred times
and I have.
When I see a football score of 6-3 or 6-2 or 3-2 (something like that) I am known to ask what inning the game is in.
In other words, go fuck yerself.
Here’s a hundred more:

I didn’t mean to be insulting.
I just get annoyed with cliche stuff, even though the phrase isn’t technically a cliche. Just the type of response.
I knew what you meant, I was being facetious.

the padres/mets series had a playoff feel to it. each team was capable of putting up a ton of runs in any inning. besides peavy, this series was all about offense. the lead was traded back and forth each game and it was only fitting that game three went to extra innings. beltran was a hero in game one and played strong throughout. khalil greene finished off the series 8-15 with 5 rbi. 2 errors each at 3B for wright and kouzmanoff (4 of the 5 total errors in the series) which really fueled comebacks for the mets. i hope they meet in the playoffs. i know i say it all the time but the mlb ticket is amazing!
The only thing I hate more than west coast games are rainouts. Go Bosox!
And hey, did anyone catch the football-like score from the other night?
30-3? WHOA! Sounds like a score from a football game. Holy SHIT!!
you know, when I first saw that on the ESPN ticker, I thought to myself “wow, football season is back.” BUT THEN, I saw it was an MLB score!!
YOINIKERS!!
That’s funny…when I saw a 30-3 score, I immediately checked the box score to try to find Jason Grilli’s name, but I couldn’t. (cymbal crash). There, that’s a fresh joke for you folks…well…for the Tigers fans at least.
Anyway, talk about a nice stomach-punch game by the Tigers yesterday. Nate Robertson pitches his best game of the year for 8 2/3 innings with four hits and no walks and still only 90 pitches (he should have stayed in) and, everyone’s hero, Joel Zumaya blows it in the 10th. Of course, it shouldn’t have even gone to the tenth, the Tigers left guys stranded at second for the whole game. I don’t even know why pitchers throw strikes at these guys…they’re just gonna swing at it anyway. This is getting depressing…
And we get four games against the Yankees. Hurray!!

::puts Tigers hat back on::
Let’s go Tigs!
LOL. Ya gotta love the Angels…they ALWAYS kick the Yankee’s ass. Even better, if the Yanks somehow get the wild card this year, who will they likely play in the first round?..that’s right…the Angels. WOOOOO!!
