Major League Baseball: 2007 Season

Damn them Cubbies fer beatin’ my Dbacks! arrrr.

This whole Michael Vick thing sickens me. Almost literally.

If anywhere on the news they start to get into the story, I change the channel. I can’t sit there and listen/watch about the brutality that occurred. Treating your pet, or animals in general, like that is pretty much right at the top of my list of things that not only piss me off, but upset me.

I am not sure why I posted that in here.

It should go in the NFL thread.

padres host the diamondbacks for a 4 game series. padres are coming off a road trip through the mets and phillies, going 2-1 in each series. padres host the dodgers this weekend as boomer will make a return to petco. following that they go to arizona, colorado, and la for 3 games a piece. this push will make or break their season

with football right around the corner, this is def my fav time of the year!

Nice to see the Tigers hold off the Yanks yesterday despite the fact that our starter injured his shoulder in the 2nd. That was sweet…especially watching Zumaya smoke A-Rod. Seriously, is A-Rod the most anti-clutch player ever?..If the Yanks ever need a big hit, he’s become the last guy you want at the plate.

And can you believe that on Friday, the umpires delayed the Tigers/Yanks game for FOUR hours due to rain? The game started at 11pm at night, then went to 11 innings and finally ended at 3:30 in the morning with a Guillen walk-off home run. I’m just glad I didn’t have to work on Saturday so I could see it, but it must have sucked for folks at the game. MLB is nuts.

I’m going the Tigers/Yanks game tonight. We’ve got Verlander vs Mussina, so hopefully it’ll be a repeat of the last time they faced each other.

Stevo

Stevo, I’m going too! What section are you in?

Oh yah, I’m in section 133 row 29

Twinkies are comin, we’re comin…

was looking over the standings, specifically home and road records. most teams are through 130 games. i only listed the playoff potential teams.

team [home record] [road record]
red sox [+17] [+12]
yankees [+17] [-4]
indians [+13] [+3]
tigers [+3] [+8]
angels [+24] [-1]
mariners [+16] [+1]

mets [+5] [+11]
phillies [+7] [-1]
braves [+3] [+1]
cubs [+2] [+1]
brewers [+15] [-15]
cardinals [+5] [-6]
diamondbacks [+14] [+2]
padres [+7] [+5]
dodgers [+3] [+2]

only four teams are +5 or better on the road. [red sox, mets, tigers, padres]

the red sox road record will help give them the top spot in the AL.

the yankees inability to win on the road will cost them a wild card birth.

the mariners stronger home record will help them maintain their lead over the tigers for the wild card spot but the tigers better road record will keep them in line to take the wild card spot over. slight edge for the tigers due to experience.

the angels home record helps them maintain their lead in the division.

the mets road record will help give them the top spot in the NL.

the cubs ability to play over .500 at home and on the road will earn them the div title.

the padres and diamondbacks will keep their distance in the division and wild card race to both secure spots in the playoffs.

red sox vs tigers [alds]
angels vs indians[alds]
mets vs diamondbacks [nlds]
padres vs cubs [nlds]

indians vs tigers [alcs]
mets vs padres [nlcs]

padres vs indians [ws]

padres win

I was in section 148, row P right behind the Tigers bullpen. That homerun that Polanco hit was about 10-15 rows in front of me.

Seriously what a great game. Just an asswhupping from top to bottom. People keep ripping on Mussina, but he was probably the most solid Yankee pitcher that night…the entire bullpen was a disaster. I read somewhere that it was the second biggest Yankee beatdown ever or something. There was nothing better than cocky Yankee fans with their “Got Rings??” t-shirts walking out of there in the 5th inning with their heads down. NOTHING better. MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Stevo

Good Sox/Spanks game last night. Kudos to the winners. Nancy Drew needs to go back to detective school to figure out the case of the over-the-plate fastball. Hopefully we can handle Rog-ah tonight.

Well, another quality start blown by the Mets, due to their inablity to pad a lead and/or get serviceable help from their Bullpen. Their should be no division race right now. But with two more games in Philly, and then a 3 game trip to Atl. they may just find a way to blow it in the worst division in Baseball.

Man is that Bullpen Fucken Awful .

the Twins season is officially over.

oh well…there’s always next year

phils took another from the mets, watch out stem fans

Holy shit, the Yanks took two from the Sox. Never expected it after their performances in Detroit and LA.

Classic Fall baseball being played everywhere. Best time of year for the game.

I’m not sure what’s more surprising…that or the Tigers just getting owned by the Royals in the last two games. Seriously, I’ve got basically no faith in these Tigers. If the starters show up, the bats don’t. If the bats show up big, the starters suck. Then last night the bats and starter don’t show up and the bullpen is great. I just don’t see it in these Tigers this year…I’ll keep watching cuz I’m hopelessly loyal to my teams but I expect nothing from them…we’re basically the new 2006 White Sox.

Stevo

Sox get swept… jeez. After mauling the White Sox the Yanks shut them down. Will it come down to that final 3 game series?

Even worse, look at the rest of the Yanks schedule. They play Tampa, the Orioles and Toronto like a million times. Seattle is in trouble.

They just said the Cubs started the month of September in 1st place for the first time in 18 years.

Geez.
