Major League Baseball: 2007 Season

they say alot…dont they?

Yes they do.

Old news but did any of you see that young guy throw the no-hitter for the Sox? I watched some of the replay yesterday. Pretty unbelievable considering a guy like Schilling has never thrown a no-hitter.

I didn’t see that, but I saw live coverage on ESPNEWS of that guy from Minnesota who took a perfect game into the 9th. He got the first guy but then walked the second guy. So the no-no is still alive. Then some douche gets a hit. Oh well. Good stuff.

Mike Sweeney pinch hitting for his first at-bat since the middle of June.

The sox kid throwing a no-no in his second start is pretty crazy. He might get sent back to Pawtucket once Timmay is healed.

Go Sox!

Speaking of Sweeney…

They cut in live on ESPNews and they had the Twins radio team doing the game. As soon as Sweeney got the hit to break up the no-no, one of the announcers said “I never liked him anyway.”

Tongue-in-cheek (probably), but still funny.

I noticed that they popped up a graphic that Sweetney was hitting .575 against the Twins that year and that was a bad sign.

Of course that Red Sox kid did it the next night.

I’m going to the Tigers game tonight. I get Bondermania against Jon Garland and his sideburns. Should be fun. Maybe I’ll just skip the first inning since that’s when they’ll score all the runs on Bonderman anyway…

The Cleveland Inidians are going to win the World Series this year, which pisses me off for only one reason: C.C. Sabathia is such a douche.

Besides that I’d be OK with it.

Why is he a “douche”?

No one’s beating the Angels, dude. Hate to tell you. Cleveland’s on a nice run now but they’re shaky as hell. The lack of hitting is going to get to them eventually.

Stevo

well, of course all of this is based on my bias towards the Twins…that’s what is fun about sports.

  1. The way he wears his baseball cap sideways makes him look like a buffoon.

  2. He simply seems like somebody who doesn’t enjoy playing baseball, and people who don’t realize how lucky they are to play baseball and make a good living piss me off. His face always has a scowl.

  3. He usually owns the Twins.

In the end, I’d much rather have the Indians take the central than they Tigers or White Sox. I can see the Indians being a sneaky good team in the playoffs. Fausto Carmona could be the MVP.

damn padres. threw their top two pitchers at the dbacks the last 2 nights. young has struggled lately, especially against the dbacks, and it continued tuesday night. peavy wanted the mound on 3 days rest…and he ended up pitching his worst game in a very long time. it was his first loss on the road this year too. these two losses put them 1 back of the dbacks. im not worried about that. what im worried about is the confidence they just gained by smoking peavy. theyre a young team and the last thing they need (as a padres fan) is a lot of confidence going into the last ~20 games of the season.

Well we know that the TIGERS and TWINS are out…

Sad…

^hold the phone there Klyde… Tigers 2 games out of the wild card… if Yanks lose tonight things are even better and shaping up for the final dozen games. Det is not out of it. Neither are the Phillies after sweeping the Mets! They are 1.5 out of the wild card.

^2.5 after Soxys couldn’t pull it out against Mo. Great weekend for Sox/Yanks baseball. Nothing is wrapped up yet.

Allow me to reiterate that the Red Sox suck ass. Way to win ONE game from the Yanks after the Tigers sweep Minnesota. Thanks for nothing. I hope you guys lose your next ten games in a row. And if you make the playoffs I hope you get swept. The Sawks Sucks ass. Way to step it up against your big rival, Sawks. Can someone explain why this is such a great rivalry? The Browns/Steelers rivalry is less one-sided.

Stevo

I think rivalries are only truly great to people affiliated with them. I can’t imagine a Dodgers fan getting pumped for Sox/Yanks, the same way I can’t get pumped for whatever ‘rivalry’ they may have (San Fran? San Dieg?) Do I care who wins a Michigan/Ohio game? Not in the slightest.

And yes. We had a shite weekend. Really should have held on to friday’s game, just really poor managing of the bullpen by Tito Francoma. Great game last night though, down to the last out. A less than 100% Jeter showed why he gets all the love (and hate).

LOL…Sorry there. I was just venting. I only vent about Yanks/Sawks cuz ESPN loves to jam it down our throats. But yes…you’re right about all that. I generally dislike both teams. Oh well…

how bout them fightins, watch out mets were coming for ya, especially jimmy, he doesn’t want to have to eat his words come the end of the season, lets keep the train rollin boys, keep it steaming right through october

it will be glorious

And since I’ve been on her honking my boys, I figure I should be the one to do it:

The Undertaker: Detroit Tigers…RREEEESSTTTT IIINNNNNN PEEEEAAACCCCEEEE…

Sniff…
