I want to see more of the PADRE uni’s… yeah…
The Twins discussed signing Ensberg, but he was gobbled up pretty quickly…

According to this map, I should be a White Sox fan.
Fuck that!

^Wow thats cool as hell!
Upon closer inspection, it might indicate that I’m in Cardinals territory.
Either way, I don’t really have a favorite baseball team. I used to like the Braves in the 90s when they were really good, but now I just don’t even watch anymore.
Actually, in the early 90s during the summer I remember watching Cubs day games and listening to Harry Caray and Steve Stone. That was fun.
Look, I can’t stand Bonds myself and I think that not only should his numbers have an asterisk but it they should be stricken from all record books. With that said, yes, I want to see him break it. After all, how many times in your lifetime does the home run record get broken? It’s not really about the MAN, but it’s about the moment. I hate Bonds, but I want to see it live if I can. Although, I like how it’s taking Bonds forever to hit it if only because that weasel Bud Selig has to follow him around. I hope Bonds sandbags it for like a month straight so Bud has to keep following him around.
By the way, I don’t know about the Tigers, man. I REALLY wish they had gotten a reliever at the trade deadline, even an average one…it’d still be better than the disaster we’ve got now. And all I keep hearing is “wait til Rodney and Zumaya come back!” For one, Rodney is terrible. He was good in the first half of last year and then was terrible in the second half and has been dreadful all year long this year. I don’t WANT him back. As for Zumaya, I don’t get it…I just don’t see how a guy can be out for that long and then come back and just start flinging at 102 mph. Even worse, I don’t know if anyone noticed but at the end of last year and the start of this year, Zumaya had definite control issues where there were some games where he couldn’t hit the strike zone to save his life. It’s not like he’s Marino Rivera here. I think we may be in for a big disappointment with those two and I really wish we had made a trade for someone. At this point I only trust Byrdak, Jones and Durbin out of the bullpen…everyone else is a potential gascan as far as I’m concerned. And it doesn’t help that our starters are having issues too but I’ll think they’ll get better.
The one amazing thing is considering how horrendous the Tigers have been in the last few weeks, they’re still somehow ahead of the Indians. I was shocked and amazed when I saw this a few days ago…I was SURE that the Indians would have passed us by now so there’s a beam of light.
And does ANYONE know why the Twins traded Castillo? Anyone? This makes NO sense. He’s one of those guys who legitimately frightens me when he comes to the plate with guys in scoring position. You don’t trade guys like that. No wonder Santana is pissed.
Stevo
B— You hear my boy Johan the other day??? Well he complained about the Castillo trade… Hmm, his stats need some work…Hey JOHIZZLE, get us a win than bitch to management…
Boy that was uncalled for…
i love that picture that G2K posted.
but i’m sad to say that i can’t agree that the Marlins cover that much ground. Most of northern Florida is probably still in Braves country and even down here, within 15 miles of the stadium, most of South FLA is filled with New Yorkers and the Yankees used to do spring training here in northern Ft Lauderdale just by my house, so there are definite Yankee traits to this area. I myself, even grew up somewhat of a Yankee fan back before there was Marlins. But most of my family is from Pittsburgh so i’ve always been part Pirates fan.
But i’m from here for sure. Go Marlins. Fuck the haters.

Hmm, where oh where have the Tigers gone, where oh where can they be?
Yeah, we’ve lost 11 of our last 13 and the Indians JUST NOW passed us. Way to jump on the opportunity, guys. With Andrew Miller going on the DL now and no end to the injuries in sight, the Tigers are an absolute disaster. But Cleveland hasn’t been much better. Watch the Twins pass them both while the Yanks get the wild card. Sigh…
I’ll be rooting for the Cubbies this fall. Other than 2003, I can’t remember the last time they enjoyed any post-season success. But I don’t really follow baseball that much, either.
It might have been the Dawson/Sandberg/Grace era!
i wonder what team has 2 of the top 3 hitters in the NL…
could it be?

And yet your way below .500
;D
