A day late and a dollar short…
Just a quick birthday story for youz dudes.
My birthday started out rough, like a sandpaper to the inner nostril. Things at home were just perfectly bad w/my lady and it was sucky.
So I ended up going disc golfing (which is a horror story unto itself, complete w/two lost good discs, and unfinished game and an injury) & on my way back, picked up my car from the shop. Which runs great and the repair was beyond reasonable cuz my mechanic’s great. I get in the car, and was meaning to put the radio on to find the time - my dashboard clock was now wrong & I don’t carry a cellphone, so I’m out of the loop & need to resort to things like radio.
… so I turn on the stereo looking for the time, and the vibes kick in. Backwards Down The Number Line comes on and I didn’t even mean to put the CD player on. But suddenly Phish is wishing me happy birthday, and Stealin’ Time came on next (i had a mix i made in there and forgot about it), and both of those songs are not only favorites of mine from their new stuff, but the lyrics just hit home for me. Happy ride home, I’ll tell you.
And I got home and somehow there was peace there, and we’re currently riding a wave of calm peace still. Thanks everyone for your nice words and bday wishes.
