McLovins

Not sure if these kids have been discussed but holy shit. In 15 years we’re going to be bitching about how we can’t get tickets to their shows.

I’m an old fuddy-duddy at age 30, but seeing these kids play like this makes me happy.

i made a thread about them a while back. their cover of YEM is rediculously tight. they also have a number of original tunes that bring HEAT.

Something’s missing. The tone on this kids guitar is a little to “smooth” jazz like not to mention I get a feeling of “music by numbers” feel from listening. Not a lot of soul going on or true raging heat.

It almost seems like these guys are literally thinking about which scales to play. Seem a bit to rigid?

Oh and the band name BLOWS BIG CHUNKS. I mean Mclovins? really? Very bad choice for a band name.

Anyway with time there is no telling what may happen.

^This.

They need a guitar tech, bass tech, drum tech, sound dude, etc.

The playing is stellar but the tonality sucks. I don’t know how to describe it as anything other than that cookie cutter guitar tone that you hear at Guitar Centers and music stores all across the country. Does that make sense?

Once these guys find/craft their own “voices”, they could be something big.

^Give the guitarist a languadoc, a pair of screamers, and a ross compressor. Just make sure he doesn’t get his hands on a whammy pedal.
