merriweather camping

 where is a good place to camp near merriweather post

Patapsco State Park. It’s about 7 miles from the venue. I’ve stayed there almost every Merriweather show I’ve been to and I’ll be there next weekend. $16 per night but you have to reserve a Friday night if you’re there during the weekend. They also have a few small sleeper cabins.

Reserve a site soon as they fill up quickly. The park is always sold out during Phish shows. I just reserved mine last week so there may still be some sites left. There are 2 camping areas in the park: Hilton and Hollofield. Both are nice but Hilton is more family and group oriented if I remember correctly. Not a huge party scene as it is a state park but it’s a chill place to catch some Zs and meet some people between shows. Good luck.

thanks for the info

I apologize if you went and your experience sucked. I’ve always camped there with no problems but this time was a straight up mess. They were busting people left and right. Handing out tickets for drinking and noise violations. If were talking at all after 10:00 they’d give you noise violation tickets. Saw a dude get tackled and busted by an undercover butch lady-cop wearing a tie-dye T-shirt. They told us that because there was a Phish show in town that they would have officers circling the campground 24 hours looking for drugs, alcohol, and noise violations. They weren’t lying either. Ironically, the biggest noise violation that I noticed were the cops driving their trucks by my campsite all night long just about every 10 to 15 minutes. To make it even better, one of the three vehicles circling was badly in need of new belts and kept me up all night. We ended up ditching the campsite that was already paid for and stayed at the Sheraton so we could sleep and not be paranoid that cops were gonna raid our shit for doing nothing. I used to love that place but NEVER AGAIN!!!
