Merry New Year!

'ello OKP!

Not having the interwebs to troll at work all day has put my posting capacity to a minimum recently, but wanted to poke my head in and say howdy to all.

Recent happenings:
New work found in finance- I am currently a teller for Citizens Bank here in Bennington. It’s like a big game of Monopoly that I win every day, except when I don’t balance, which thankfully has not been often. Working with the public after a 4 year hiatus is both familiar and frustrating at the same time. People are quite particular about their money, especially when we take some becuase they can’t manage it. Anyone need a checking account?

Another dead body found (some sick, sick humor going on here)- My fiance’s father finally lost his battle with cancer. Towards the end it was pretty bad. With lung, bone and pancreatic cancer, the prognosis was never good. At least when we first moved in with her parents he was cognisent, reading the paper every day, calling for coffee or whatever we could get him. His later days were drug filled to dull his intense pain, causing high levels of dellusion. Very sad to see. The wake/funeral were very nice affairs, bringing numerous people out of the woodwork to pay their respects. It was very touching to see all the lives that he had touched, ranging from childhood friends to people he had barely worked with earlier this year. It was waves of emotion for Meg and her mom that were much needed and brought a piece of closure to the ordeal. I see Meg struggling with the loss, but moments like these help to bolster her memories of her father and reassure her that he was a good man. The holidays were tough, but we struggled through and look to happier days ahead. Which leads to…

Mawwidge. Mawwidge is what bwings us togever, today- Not until 2010, but I asked for Meg’s hand in marriage and she gave me the best birthday present ever. We have 5 years together and during an early morning drive, with the steam rising from the lake, and YEM NYE’95 blasting, I realized I was truly ready for this. I am glad to say that she is as well. I caught her completely by surprise on a walk during my birthday evening, and I was able to give our families and ourselves an early Christmas present.

Still shut out of Hampton- I had been holding out some glimmer of hope that tix would fall from the sky and I would be blessed to see the comeback. Alas, it is not to be. I am about to free up a room at the Best Western in Newport News, VA if anyone is looking (sat. night- March 7?) for a room. :frowning:

Anywhoo, just wanted to let you all I know I am still alive, miss the meanderings and goings on of the Pah, and look forward to the days of a Ceremony with you all.

Be good,
Chris

Are you from a British Isle or are you a non-native English speaker!?!?! the Appropriate celebratory accompaniment to “New Year” is happy, while Merry is reserv

I hate to be ragging on you… but after reading your first posts, I find it funny you are criticizing the way somebody else types.

Woooooah!!! I am not criticizing, merely poking innocent fun at it!!! No hating from me, sorry for representing myself inaccurately. I often type how it is meant to be pronounced rather than the Noah Webster way of writing. I forget what that’s called.

^fonetikly.

Life has ups and downs, it’s how we deal with them thay makes up grow. I did a bunch of growin’ this year and am still here to tell the tales.

^hey, only I can write/speak fonetikly.

Congratulations on your engagement. That’s super news.

I think I want that hotel room! can you PM me?

^^I was thinking about that when I was typing it.

^PM sent.

I want a fuckin different color for my handle!!!
