Miami Parking

How is everyone getting to the shows? Should I park, take the bus, or ride my bike from the hotel? Any idea as to how much parking is?

how far is your hotel from the show?

parking is not gonna be that heady.

My hotel is a little less than a mile away so we are just gonna walk…I found out that parking anywhere is not cheap it’s $28 per night at my hotel

I’m staying near the airport. We already have to pay to park there. I’m bringing my bike and I think I’ll use that to get to the show. I hope those 5 miles aren’t to seedy.

i hate to tell you but you might be in for somewhat of a disappointment.

I’d look into public transportation or something.

getting to the show won’t be a problem, bus train or bike but afterwards…might be a loooong 5 miles.

just check out the Metrorail/Metromover system and see what might work for you.

YESS, biking to and from a phish show…love to hear it, I wanna do it if I can at some point

My hotel is about 1mi West of the venue so I’m planning on walking there and cabbing back. Most likely going to post-show rages nearby for ~1hr or so before heading back.

what are the closest hotels? i haven’t got a room yet. i’m guessing all the close one are sold out.

there will be parking at the venue right? i’ve never been to this place before.

^Hilton, we booked this middle of last weekend, but you’ll be around 200/night

ok i’m gonna be at the holiday inn port of miami.

priceline says it’s only .19 miles from the venue so it looks like i’m parking there and walking. it looks like about two or three blocks south of the arena.

Parking near the arena will run between $15-$20

Want to be there.

Info post for future AAA shows:

Lots near AAA:
Ranging from $15 near the homeless shelter on 8th St betw. 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave to $40 in Shakedown lot (entrance 7th betw. 2nd Ave and Biscayne Blvd)

$10 Bayside parking garage jawbone used are by the outdoor shopping area just south of AAA

Street-side parking:
$.25 per 10mins, some are metered.

There’s a few blocks near the Monorail Station on S. E 2nd Ave (betw. ~3rd St and ~6th St) which are pay-at-the-machine, same rate.

From what I gathered you can pay with card / cash up to 5hrs and no one I spoke with got ticketed when they returned to their cars around midnight post the first 3 shows. May be the cheapest option if you can find the space.

If I am correct, our hotel charged 26/day… Sad really… :frowning:

mine charged $12. holiday inn port of miami.

when we got there it was about 10AM and the lot was full. they said we would have to park in the lot next door which was $20 a day. that one was full too. finally i pulled up to the gate of the hotel lot and parked on the sidewalk and just waited for someone to check out.

Bayside parking garage is the best game in town.

That is timely advice!

^i really didn’t find that out until the shows were happening and i really didn’t have time to post it then so i figured i’d add it to PYK’s afterthought for “future reference”

and that statement is true whether Phish is in town or not. Just for downtown MIA in general.

^ edited my post to include the name of the parking area Brady used!

Oh, and watch out for saxophones in the parking lot, everybody.
