MIAMI

lincoln road has a lot of really great art galleries if you’re into that. it’s a terrible place to walk around though. it’s all really expensive clothing stores and rich punks.

miami is either way too expensive and thus attracts obnoxious people who feel self-important or way too ghetto. there’s of course the suburbs where i live, but that’s like suburbs anywhere. straight twilight zone shit.

i live in Ft Lauderdale again as of next week.

If ya got the dough stay at the Hayat in lauterdale and get plowed at the rotating roof bar

^the man got to it already

the rotating roof bar on top of Pier 66 has been reserved for private events only.

I guess we’ve decided that we’re flying into Miami and driving right to Ft Lauderdale. We’re staying at the Blue Lagoon Hotel right on the A1. Is this gonna be a decent spot? I’m not in the hood or anything am i?

You coming to Langerado Jaw?

fuck Miami, go hang out in the everglades!

this man knows what he’s talking about!

here here!

^ ROTFL

did i miss the memo?

funky has a pee-pee?

huh huh, you said pee-pee

  1. A1A = far from the hood. Party time.
  2. i’ll only be going to the festival if my brother can sneak me in for Phil on Sunday night.
  3. I will be back in town though so let me know if you want me to take you around and show you the good shit (i.e. stuff that’s not the elbo room).
  4. Are you going to be hanging around on a thursday night? If so, there’s a great Dead cover band (Crazy Fingers…the best) that plays at this bar down the street from my house. It should be bumping for Langerado week.

why do i always get mistaken for being a dude? my handle is in hot pink for god sakes! I guess since this place is such a sausage fest anyway…

Aww Marianne! In the guys defense, most chicks aren’t half as cool as you so it’s natural to assume you’re a dude!!!

the vast majority of people i’ve ever encountered on message boards have been male. it’s foolish of me to assume that you are a male, but then again, can you blame me for doing so?

i sincerely apologize.

plus, my handle has been hot pink before!

there is that little gender thingy under your avatar

well, i am a jerk.

and so am i.

Well, I just got back from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Boca/West Palm area… got lotsa stuff that I’ve done down there that was a ton of fun, although I’m not sure what your bag of chips is.

First time I was down there my best friend Roma lived in Boynton Beach and we made the trek from there to South Beach which wasn’t that bad b/c 100mph to those folks down there is like 60 to the rest of us… anyways…it all depends on what you like to do.

The beach is crazy… it’s gorgeous and packed with two types of people: the half naked tourists who, for the most part are oiled up and if they’re foreign are half naked, and what Roma and I like to call “the Gerries” an affectionate name for geriatrics who live for bold, flourescent palm prints, visors, umbrellas and leathery skin. The water down there though is not to be believed and if you’re gonna go to the beach, you need to set up right on 8th and Ocean and go to Wet Willie’s. They give you ginormous frozen mixed drinks in to-go cups b/c drinking in the streets and on the beach is legal down there. For some nightlife I would suggest Mango’s (which is a salsa club) or Opium ( a hookah bar and lounge).

Basically my adventures down there were centered around shopping, drinking, beaching, dancing, more drinking and occasionally some eating and then sleeping.

If you’re looking to go down there and take it easy… I might not be the person to give advice on that… lol.

P.S - If you’re in South Beach promise me you’ll go to the restaurant at the Delano. When you walk in you feel like you’ve stumbled into some new Prince video or something…the lobby is insane and when Roma and I were there we saw Ryan Phillippe, Jason Kidd, Mena Suvari and Brian McKnight all in a matter of about 15 mins…

i may have already said it in this topic, but i’m gonna stress it. if the social scene isn’t for you but you love the beach, go to Biscayne Bay. it’s phenomenal.

…or head down to the keys. Marathon key is only about an hour drive south of South Beach. Key West, on the other hand, is a full 4 hours south of MIA, though it is worth the drive.
