OK, I am breaking down and thinking of purchasing an MP3 player.
I am leaning towards the Zune, and can’t really find any reason not to. My question is, anyone have any horror stories?
And I am not even considering an iPod… too much bullshit to jump through. I dislike iTunes, and will not be having that on my computer.
Not a fan of the Zune at all, it doesn’t even run on some MICROSOFT computers…

I think you should just quit being a pussy and get an iPod, there’s a reason they sell so much and it’s not all marketing…
I know the iPod is not for me. Most of my friends have them… and I just don’t want one. Simple as that.
One major thing I like about the Zune is that it has an FM radio. And… I listen to FM during work for O&A and Rover. So… I think I am going to get one today.

I haven’t tried a Zune, but have you looked at the Creative Zen Vision M? I have one and it works fine, no need to install crap, FM radio, and plays videos if you are into watching them on a tiny screen… Iriver do some nice MP3 players too.
I heard Creative was good… I will look into that.

A tad out of my price range I was looking to spend though.

hmm this could be an option for me. I was thinking last night that I really should have some kind of music-playing device since spring is coming and I’ll be walking and riding my bike around more. My last one was a cd player walkman which of course broke down…thats how out of touch I am with today’s technology.
and I’m too cool to follow the crowd and get an I-pod so this could be cool.

someone recently told me to “get with it” and that seemed to make sense to me, so yeah. I’m not ashamed.
OK, I had 2 DVDs of studio albums backed up, and they are now on the ole Zune.
I like this thing a lot so far.
Trying to figure out how to delete the crap that came pre-loaded.
Some interesting videos. The screen/view is crystal clear. Really great movies loaded in about “extreme” mountain biking, snowboarding, and a skateboarding tour through NYC.
nice, i recently got a Scandisk Sansa, works on flashed based memory, now hard drives to crash. plus it has the microSD expandable memory slot so i can get a bunch of microSD cards if i choose and put diff bands on diff cards
So far, I love this thing.
Was a little tricky going in the beginning trying to figure out a couple of things, but everything is running smoothly so far.
Video looks great, FM comes in crystal clear, and I have about 200 albums I haven’t listened to in a while loaded up.
Let me just see how it works during work…
I seriously hate in-the-ear style head phones. They don’t work for me. Or do they constantly fall out for everyone else?
I think it may because I have a case of the attached earlobes… or maybe my brain is so big and full of knowledge it keeps pushing them out.

I can’t ever get those things to stay in my ears either. Congrats on the new MP3 player Will. I’m still a bit Mp3phobic, but I’m sure in the next couple of years I’ll cave and buy a decent Mp3 player.
Will, what type of in-ears do you use?
There are two types, the iPod type ones, which fucking suck, and then the noise canceling in-ears that own face. They have the rubber piece on the end of them, and come with different size rubber ends to fit your ears.

Yep, exactly. I have those same noise-canceling ones with the different sized rubber pieces. I use those when I’m running on the treadmill and they work great. They stay in 99% of the time.
