Man, the show was good. Again the Jefferson Theater in Cville is great. This show was nowhere near sold out. Maybe 300-400 people there, maybe.
Mike mentioned that it was the ‘birthday’ of this band, and at the start of the second set we all sang happy birthday to them, which they seemed to enjoy.
A couple of times Mike was playing around with a weird little handheld mixer box, and at one point said we were going to have an exercise in trust and he passed it into the crowd for people to toy around with.
At the end I met Mike at the merch table and attempted to find out about summer tour, and if they’d be playing VA…but he was non-committal about the whole thing.
And sorry, Pei, I didn’t mention that you’d be bringing a bobble-head for him to sign tonight…but I’m certain he’ll be happy to sign it.
Woot leaving in t-minus 1 hour! Can’t wait to catch this show tonight. I should be at the bar across from the TLA for a good while getting my drink on before the show
Nice pictures! Man the first set hoe down was lots of fun. Second set brought some great jamming from the whole band. Was a great show. I would highly reccomend catching this tour!
Looks like I was right behind you, about 8’oclock is those pictures too. Good times!
^ I was more like 4-5 o clock, mostly between Mike and the right speakers. I was wearing my black OKP shirt … pretty sure I was the only Asian Girl there … and I had some glow bracelets on …
Anywho, was spotted by 2 of Moma Dave’s friends from Red Rocks … Kevin and John… they say “Hi” to all the OKP’ers they chilled with this summer (and maybe 8?) They approached me during set break to ask about the Oh Kee Pa ‘lounge’ on-line forum!
a lady at the meet and greet after the show last night was telling mike about how her bobble head’s head bobbles (wow) too much. then mike said something about how a girl the other night had a bobblehead. could it of been he was mentioning you? at another show? cactus apparently remembered you! (at least i want to believe). thats pretty sweet
got to shake his hand, got a ticket signed, and told him his band “f***ing rocked!” he seemed to enjoy my level of satisfaction.
btw his band is the REAL DEAL! WOW! i was pretty blown away, awesome show.
Yep! I saw you. You were probably 2 feet in front of me to the left a bit. I was wearing a black nike shirt. The thought ran through my head " Hey! I think she’s from the OKP!" Glad you had a great time. That bobble head signing is most exccelent.
^^Awesome Sam. Yea I’m pretty sure that was me. I got the autograph Friday and your show was the day after
Pretty kewl you overheard that convo. I personally don’t think the ‘head’ bobbles too much, if anything, not enough…
Also pretty CERTAIN I’ve been the only one to bring him a Bobble-head to sign… this tour.
Because:
Not that many people have the bobbleheads, of which, who go to a Mike show or get to meet Mike in person.
More importantly, to deftly plan & execute bringing it to him to be autographed.
After finding out from Eric that Mike was @ the merch table after the New Haven how, I asked Steve (zen) to check if Mike did the same after the C-ville show too. Then I brought it to the Philly gig.
Glad Mike remembered ‘a girl with a bobble head’ … maybe if I ever meet him again he might remember me from that xD
