He is playing literally five blocks from me in Omaha. But the question is, should I go? I think tickets are $20, which isn’t bad, but I probably won’t listen to the album at all, so would it be worth it to go just to see him, or is the album really worth listening to?
whether the album is really good or not, I still like Mike’s energy and watching his play bass.
He’ll make the show fun. Go for sure. I’ll see you there, Oscar Wilde.
From the songs I heard at Rothbury, I don’t expect this album to be as good as Inside In, but it’ll be a nice, chill album to listen to. Probably more jamming potential with this stuff as well, as opposed to Inside In songs.
five blocks! you better get over there… common
GORDOOOOOOOO!!!
Yep, do it to it OW.
Well I will definitely be there if another dakotan will be in attendance. Unfortunately I can’t remember your name, so I’ll just refer to you as phg. Anyway, we should organize an okp meet up and since the place is so small there will be no way we can miss each other. I will possibly be drunk and yelling OKP OKP!!! Mike will get annoyed thinking I am chanting for a Phish song. I will get home and my roommates will ask how the show was, to which I will simply tell them I met some older dude from north dakota that I know from the internet. The next day I will be out $20 but I will have met our very own phg.
Should I get tickets now, or will they sell out?
oh there’s no doubt bro we shall meet up for sure. My name is Hank. I might even go to Minneapolis two days later too, depending on how Omaha goes.
How small is the venue? I wouldn’t expect it to sell out but maybe I will buy tix in advance.
Why make that judgement call without even listening to the album? No flaming at all, just curious about your thoughts.
It’s not really a big venue, usually its just big small time acts if you know what I mean. Probably 500 people can get in. I’ll probably get tickets in advance just because I’m a noob, but for shows of this genre in Omaha that’s usually about the crowd so I don’t want to take any risks. I’m Dan, Hank.
And honestly I wasn’t planning on listening to the album at all. I’ve just never been psyched about any side projects that phish members have done. You make a good point moma dave, and I might as well listen to it I guess since I’ll be going…
ummm… it is totally a Gov’t Mule song… duhhhh!!

what did I ever do to you, Glenn?
BWAHAHA!
I honestly had never heard She Said She Said more than once or twice before, plus we were on the side of the stage and it was windy as fuck, so I couldn’t hear vocals too well anyway. Plus I was at a festival and was partying. Thom and I had just smoked like 11 joints, so things are foggy anyway.
so those are my excuses.
^^and that guy is a retard…please don’t compare him to me.
haha right on
thread ruined.
What’s he complaining about the West Coast?. Aside from Rothbury (which don’t count), I don’t think Mike has EVER had a tourdate come to Michigan. For those of us who can’t go touring around anymore, this is equally annoying.
Stevo
i missed Mike’s show in Portland tonight because i was helping out with a film festival that the person who’s house i’m staying at was putting on.
i guess that’s alright…especially since i’m like 30 miles from Portland right now and i don’t have a car.
but i’m on a hill and i can see it out my window…oh geez
…oh mike…i know you’re out there tonight…and i just hope you’re looking up here at me
I saw Mike’s show last night and I also got to meet Hank. He’s a pretty cool dewd. The show was sick. Mike’s new songs leave a lot of room for being creative live, which was awesome. He also played a lot of covers including Takin’ it to the Streets, Things that Make You Go Hmm and a She Said She Said encore, which included about a minute long tease of Moby Dick, complete with drum solo.
Mike all but ran to the merchandise table after the show, which was right about where I was standing before everyone flocked over there. I got to tell him nice show and he said thanks.
^oh ya I forgot about the Moby Dick tease!
indeed it was good times meeting you, Dan. Thanks again for getting me tix in advance.
2 hours before the show, we were walking around the back side of the venue, and I saw the guitar player. And then after another few seconds Mike came out, and got into a old white limo. I yelled “Mike, WHOOOOOOO!!” and he quickly acknowledged me before getting into the limo.
I also thought the show was very good. 2 or 3 times I remember really enjoying what they were doing jam-wise, and I LOVED hearing Soul Food Man. That song is kickass.
I think the drummer is the weakest link, and the band still seems like a bit of an awkward collection of musicians. But they are still young as a group. And this keyboard player Mike found is REALLY good.
It was a much needed good night after a drama-filled weekend, and I’m really glad I went.
Old white limo??
Nice!!!
