Good work San Fran, way to close it out!
2011, go Twins…
first World Series win for San Francisco.
(Giants haven’t won since way back in NY)
Good moment to watch that game a few nights ago. I always love the isolated shots of each player on the field as the final out is recorded. Always a cool feature from Fox.
And Edgar Renteria…holy crap…two World Series-winning hits now…and yet he was terrible on the Red Sox and Tigers and I couldn’t stand him the entire time he was here. Now that I see it, I figured him out…he’s an “American League Killer.” He killed the Indians with the Marlins in the WS, then killed the Red Sox with his play AND his contract when he played for them, then killed my Tigers with his play and the fact that we gave up a solid pitcher in Jair Jurrjens to get him, then he just killed the Rangers through the entire World Series. He’s just an AL Killer. That’s all it is.
I swear when I quickly was skimming that last post I saw the 5th starter as makisupa and had to do a double take
Tip of the hat to Cliff Lee, classy guy.
AT THE YANK-MEES!!! NICE OFF SEASON LOSERS!!!
the phillies have essentially the 4 aces halladay hamels oswalt and lee
Well they did sign an over the hill and over-rated 37 year old shortstop for three-years @ $51 million.
Oh wait,…that is a
as well.
And didn’t the Red Sox learn anything from the past couple post seasons.
Good pitching will always beat good hitting. Always.
Yet, they go out and throw over $100 million at a hitter. ![]()
And if I hear any Red Sox fans complain about the Yankees trying to “buy” a championship ever again I’ll throw up on their shoes. I’m almost sick of Sox fans more than Yankee fans.
Their staff is horrible and will end up on IR.
^To be fair, the Sawks were already pretty good with pitching and had a good defensive teams and were wrecked by injuries last year. With the Crawford signing, they should be rolling. Besides, them signing Crawford means the Yankees DIDN’T sign Crawford so that alone could be worth it since they’re a division rival.
I don’t like the Gonzalez trade though since I don’t trust a National League lifer who has always been the only good hitter on a bad team. Just seems like he’d be lost in a big market and in the AL. And, to be fair, most Sawks fans say they spend to keep up with the Yankees…which is true.
And how funny, Phillies. You had Cliff Lee and then stupidly traded him and then downgraded to Oswalt and then lost in the playoffs…and then you come crawling back to Cliff Lee. I mentioned how stupid that trade was all last year so I guess it’s funny that they got him anyway. Not a bad pick-up either way. I guess the Yankee fans fucked up with that story about how their fans were spitting on Lee’s wife during the playoff games. Not smart.
Welcome back to the CUBBIES!
Well, Tigers got Magglio to come back for 5-million less than he contract. With him and V-Mart in the lineup, hopefully the hitting will improve. Also a strange move with moving Phil Coke to a starter…if he works, we’d have a solid lineup. I still say we steal Greinke from KC, but I doubt it’ll happen.
The Twins did sign Tsuyoshi Nishioka, so there…
Come on, Brett. I know you are better than that…Yankmees??? Bankees?? Gotta have something better than those old ones.

Sox might have a better rotation…but the Yanks postitional players and bullpen blows away the sox’s. Have fun paying Crawford all that money when Brett Gardner has about the same numbers for 500,000 a year.

I’m always a fan of Skankees, myself…

^Nishioka is gonna be good!!!
^I hope, but the Twins might not be… They have lost more than they have gained and have yet to sign a RP or SP…
^This is a surprise? They’re the Twins. They love just coming to the cusp of greatness and then just coming short of doing enough to get anywhere past just a “pretty good” team. It’s the horrible pit of being not rebuilding but not contending either.

Well all we need is a Jim Grey interview, a kids Charity, and we will have 'THE DECISION" sequel…
