MLB 2010 thread

twins now tied with the yanks for the best record in the al

Too bad they’ll probably still get smashed by the Yanks in the playoffs…again…

^ Hahaha…I think they might actually avoid the Yankees this year and get the Rays.

All signs point to a Tampa vs NYY ALCS to me.

Yanks vs. Phils rematch is my call for the World Series.

Phil’s are about to take the division. NL East Baby!!!

Watch Out.

Been a Yankees fan most of my life. Used to ride the subways to the old Stadium when I was 12, hang out with my friends all day and get to see the likes of Mantle, Maris, Yogi and Whitey. Cost about a buck and a quarter for a standard reserved seat, 50 cents for the bleachers. Great times, great memories.

But I’m not feeling the Yankees this year. Although they’ve got a good record, I don’t see them getting past the first round, and that’s OK with me. I find myself more attached to the Twins and to the Phils this year than I am to the Yanks, and that’s who I’ll be rooting for. If it comes down to a series between these teams, it’ll be a toss up for me, but I might give the edge to the Twins because of Phishinky’s association with the team.

cincinnati reds’ magic number is 1. i haven’t been this excited about baseball since i was 11 years old.

you can thank the cardinals for GIVING your team a place in the playoffs :lolno:

I will be rooting for the REDS though in the NL. I like a few guys on that team. It would be a lot of fun to be in cinci for the playoffs.

C’mon Rays fans - show up to the ballpark and root for your team!

The Rays are done.
Carl Crawford will leave them this off season,…the rest of their stars are gonna follow him.
David Price was right to call the fans out.
And you watch,…that city will probably bitch and moan that all their good players leave.
Gee,…I wonder why?
Their in first place, in arguably the best division, and they can’t even get the park half way filled.

Move that damn team outta Florida, maybe to Portland or Oklahoma City.
Tampa doesn’t deserve them that’s for sure.

…and way to go Reds. What a great way to clinch the division as well.
Walk off homers are the best.

Anyone watch Ken Burn’s “Baseball” 10th Inning extra 2 part series on PBS the last 2 days?

It’s awesome. His original documentary was fantastic, this is just as good.
Starts just before the strike and goes through this past steroid era. Great stuff if you like baseball.

Anyway…

Phish’s “Chalkdust Torture” was used during the Red Sox vs. Yankees 2004 ACLS section.
Pretty cool IMO. Although it sounded like someone else singing,…could have been a cover of the song.

Nobody cares about the playoffs?

Let’s get this started. Games start tomorrow afternoon!
