MLB 2010 thread

I am, tickets in hand ready to start partying at 4pm!

I’m jealous.

signed,
cubs fan

I don’t normally watch any sports, but when the seasons start to get down to the wire, I usually tune in. I enjoy watching the controversies/rivalries that really come out when the season starts winding down. It’s always interesting to watch.

I’ll be tuning into this Tampa game most likely, and the Yanks as well.

goin to a bar in Austin tonight to watch the game…

I’m nervous

but it’s exciting  go twins

glad to see sabathia squirm

Halladay no hitter! October baseball is just the best,

definitely no stopping the Phillies this year.

Saw that. Awesome.

LMAO…Look who was the winning pitcher.

Never talk too much shit before the end of the game. :silent:

it wasn’t that much just his frustration was awesome when he walked home the tying run

Here’s some baseball trivia…

Who are the only two people elected to the baseball hall of fame that are non players, non owners, non umps, not commissioners, non mascots etc.?

Twins diseased.
Yankees are a bunch of over paid prima donnas…

Go Twins, but ultimately go Phils!!!

Harry Carey and Barack Obama?

I’ve actually seen this question before. I believe it’s Abbott and Costello for the “Who’s on First” routine.

And man, what a collapse by the Reds in Game 2. That 6th, 7th and 8th inning was just painful to watch. Especially after they beat up Oswalt pretty good earlier in the game.

By the way, I STILL have no idea why they sent away Cliff Lee after getting Halladay. What, having too sick, awesome pitchers is just TOO good and they had to make it more difficult on themselves. The fact that they traded for Oswalt proves that they clearly could have used Lee and if I’m not incorrect, I believe they’re paying more for Oswalt anyway. That will never make sense to me. Meanwhile, Lee was rolling for Rangers the other day and may end up smoking the Phils in the World Series.

And good for the Rays for making at least ONE of these series interesting. Yeah, the Braves won Game 2 in extras but I don’t see them hitting those pitchers, especially in Lincecum goes in Game 5.

By the way, am I the only guy who hates that the first round is only five games? These guys play 162 games and in 3 games they’re done? Basketball plays 82 games and at the least it takes 4 games to eliminate anyone. Baseball is just too random of a sport to have a series only be 5 games. Blah.

^good point.

as for what’s left: meh.

I’ll go Rangers over Giants.

After last night’s performance by Lee against the Cranks, I’m pretty sure it should be a Rangers/Phillies WS matchup. Striking out 13 on two hits in Yankee Stadium is no small accomplishment. Almost rivals Halliday’s no hitter at home two weeks ago.

The Yankees don’t deserve to go any farther really, they just don’t have the pitching. And I like the Giants a lot for their spirit and drive, and they would be the upset team to root for, but they just may not have the talent to take it all.

Bill…it’s not that bad. We split in Texas and we knew game 3 with Lee was one we were going to lose. And last night was NOT Andy’s fault…other than that HR, he pitched VERY well. Next 3 games are must wins (with Hunter, Wilson and Lewis pitching for Texas)…We really don’t want to go to a game 7 in Texas will Lee on the mound again.

If the Yanks win tonight its 2-2 with a fully rested CC coming off a bad outing. He is not going to throw two bad games in a row. Then you are looking at 3-2 and need to win 1 of 2.

Keep the faith…
