It’s hilarious that AJ Burnett is starting Game 4. That’s about as bad as Torre trotting out Jaret Wright against the Tigers in 2006. And I hope Philly fans are ready for Cliff Lee to smoke them in the World Series as they all realize that he could still be on their team. Great move there.
^I agree…should have had CC start 4…then he could pitch in 7 also. CC should have went 1,4, and 7.
I guess he would go with Andy in 7 now if there is one. ![]()
Sorry Keith, but some major miracle needs to happen to the Yankee pitching staff if they’re going to pull this one out. You can’t expect to have a chance to enter the World Series when you give up a minimum of five runs each game to your opponents. They’ve only got 1.5 solid starters out of the 3 to 4 that you really need to be in the running.
This whole thing would have looked much different if back in July the money boys would have given Lee what he wanted to come to NY. But that’s hindsight and not worth very much at this point. I’m pulling for them now as the underdog, but the Rangers have proven themselves the better team.
We did not take Lee in the trade because he only had this year left on his contract…guess who will be in pinstripes next year?..
Suck it Yankees
And this dude is playing outta his mind.
Congrats Josh,…keep it up. You deserve it.

just to secure the Marlins place in Baseball history- Cody Ross is gonna be World Series MVP.
Wasn’t Hamilton in the Cubs system at one time before falling off the wagon? Damn…
^ Hamilton was never in the Cubs system. The Cubs drafted him in the Rule 5 draft. Then immediately traded him to Cincinnati.
The Cubs and the Reds had a prearranged deal. This happens all the time in the Rle 5 draft. The Cubs had no intention of signing Josh Hamilton.
^Gotta love his story… ![]()

…
This seems to happen quite often in the life of a Cub fan.
where are they now?

Sadly, I, like with most sluggers suspect Hamilton of roids. Just seems to fit to me. I can’t help it with these guys. Baseball’s ruined it for me. Of course when he’s roiding homers on the Yankees as fellow roider A-Rod looks on, I think it’s great. Heck, I say let 'em all roid up just to make it even.
While I usually dislike NL baseball, the Giants/Philly series has been fascinating stuff. Lot of great, close games with good crowds and two fanbases who really care and don’t quit when their team gets down in these games. I’m kind of pulling for the Giants just because I like pitching-heavy teams that make these hyped-up sluggers look silly. Of course it’s difficult because I DETEST seeing Aubrey Huff and Edgar Rentaria having big involvement and making big plays on their team. These are two guys who came to the Tigers and SUCKED in the AL multiple times and had to go running back to their little NL so they could put up numbers again. Renteria’s leading off for San Fran?..He couldn’t even bat 7th with the Tigers and we’re not even that great a hitting team. It is nice to see Polanco on the Phils though who I always liked and who got it done in the AL and who I wish the Tigers had kept. He rocks. I also hate watching pitchers bat…what a waste of time.
Congrats to the Gints. They played a tough, smart game last night and deserve to move on for shutting down the Phils in the series.
Sad that a Rangers-Giants WS is goint to generate much interest, except for the most avid baseball fan because these are two young scrappy teams. I’m rooting for the Giants in this one.
gonna go Giants in this one.
if only because SF is way headier than the middle of Texas.
Would love to see Texas win Game 4 tonight…I don’t really care who wins as both teams are great stories, but I’d like to see a 7 game World Series!!
I didn’t see Games 3 and 4 due to football but good for those Giants. It’s good when solid pitching triumphs over hitting these days since that seems to be how it’s supposed to work. And good for those Giants fans who deserve it.
Congrats to the SF Giants. They deserve every bit of the honor of winning the World Series.
I love dark horse wins from the team that wasn’t expected to get past the semis. Great pitching, great playing, great spirit, just a great all around win.
Good work San Fran, way to close it out!
2011, go Twins…
first World Series win for San Francisco.
(Giants haven’t won since way back in NY)
