MLB 2011 Thread!!!

Cubs are just terrible…

White Sox staying in it…

Indians starting to slip…

Cards, Giants, Red Sox, Rangers, Yanks and Phils are still looking tough…

D-Backs could be Darkhorse…

And the Draft started today!!!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Major … ball_Draft

Whoa!!! Danny Hultzen went at #2!!?? Craziness!!

We finally won!

Well, I have been close.

We have now won three series in a row and looked awesome versus Texas…

All this with 1/2 the starting team from the Triple A team…

So, who is next? LOL… Still 9 back in the race, no holding breath yet, but we are looking a little better!

^If I recall, you were 9 back very LATE in the season a few years ago when you eventually ran down the Tigers and beat us in that 1-game playoff. We’ve learned to NEVER count the Twins out.

And, huzzah! Tigers in sole 1st place after Verlander nearly had ANOTHER no-hitter last night until it was broken with a hit in the 8th. Go Tigers!

^If your team can stay healthy and continue to get those types of pitching performances, then I am nervous!!

If there were ever a year to blame (partially) injuries, this is it!
FYI:::
Current DL for your Minnesota Twins:

Morneau
Mauer
Thome
Nathan
Slowey
Nishioka
Span
Kubel
Perkins

Recently came off of the DL:
Young

^Hey, on the bright side the injuries are coming early. By the all-star break you could have a lot of those guys ready and my Tigers would be ready for their usual post-All-Star-game collapse. We’re always terrified of the Twins around here…

Well, Muaer is coming back, to early in most opinions and Thome , Nathan, Nishioka are all on the way back too…

So, win 13/14 then lose 5 in a row…

Really guys, come on…

Really Cubs!? The Royals!?!?!?!?!

THE FUCKING ROYALS!??!?!?!?!
:unamused:

^Yeah, even the Twinkies beat the Royals down…

Reminds me of the Tigers earlier this year. Win Streak, Loss Streak, Win Streak, Loss Streak

At least we FINALLY won an NL series this weekend. We went 1 for 3 against the Pirates, Rockies and Dodgers…all three times we avoided the sweep by getting the last game. Finally took two of three from the D-Backs and could have taken all three. Verlander was SICK SICK on Saturday with 14 strikeouts in a 6-0 win…he’s been near-unstoppable since the no-hitter. He was 2-3 going into that no-hitter game…now he’s 10-3…hasn’t lost since.

And tonight I’m finally getting to go to the make-up game for the Tigers/Blue Jays game that got rained out in May. Getting Scherzer v. Stewart. About to head out.

Well, I haven’t posted in here lately, cause frankly…we fucking suck!

On that note…who wants these players? Everyone & I mean everyone (yes even Castro & Marmol) is tradable.
Let’s do this smart and right, and we may have a fighting chance next year. Fucking Hendry needs to stop with the “we are gonna give this team another month” bullshit and start pulling the trigger. He is only trying to save his own ass (which in my opinion, is unsavable. See “Contract of Alphonso Soriano”) This team would have to win EVERY GAME for two straight weeks just to get to .500—we have yet to win THREE IN A ROW!!! :astonished:

Donzo!

We were dunzo back in May!

15 - doughnut, nice effort Twinkies…

Meh…

^Yeah, that was a bit shocking, especially since it’s right after the Dodger bankruptcy news.

Fun game last night as the Tigs pulled off a close one in the 8th again. It was a company outing with about 20 or so people…we played this cool game where we have a cup and everyone puts a dollar in and the cup rotates from one person to the next with each batter. If that batter hits a double, you win the cash…not a triple or homerun or a single with an error…only a double. And then every time you get the cup you add in another dollar. It was a pretty fun game.

I won the last cup winnings from the rule that whoever has it when the game ends gets the winnings…there was only one out in the 9th and I got the cup and then Valverde got a double-play which was sweet. Love ya, Jose!

We came back to pull out a much needed win last night, now lets get this train rolling, please!!!

Wow…“Meet the Mets”…30 runs put on the Tigers over the last two games. Leyland actually put a backup 3rd baseman to pitch the last out of the game last night because he was so sick of using up his bullpen. And once again, we need to win the last game of an NL game to avoid the sweep. Of course, we have the “losing streak stopper” in Mr. Verlander going right now so maybe we’ve got a chance…1-0 Mets right now…

Going for the sweep today, pretty good team and some good players on that team!

Go get 'em Twins!!!

i can’t think of anything more epic than the ending of the indians game tonight.

something truly special is happening in cleveland this season. i can’t think of a city that deserves a winner more.
