^As a Reds fan, you must be pretty happy with the outcome last night. HOLY SHIT was that some garbage baseball. You talk about destined to suck–that is us The Chicago Cubs. THE ONLY team that can make two errors on one play and have three unearned runs scored–all on the same play. Here’s the kicker–the ball barely left the infield!!

That’s not all–a couple innings later, we give up FOUR MORE unearned runs. Thus rendering The Cubs losers of a 7-5 game in which ALL of the runs given up were unearned. Hasn’t been done since 1957!!! :clap: :astonished:

shit was ridiculous. the game was handed to the reds. when arredondo walked in that run, i thought that we had let it slip away from us but i guess kerry wood had other plans.

the reds broadcasters were talking not so nice about the cubs manager as well. the criticized his whole approach to the game.

C’mon, like I’ve been saying, did anyone in Chicago expect anything other than mediocrity this summer? I mean, I consider the fact that they are 6 under .500 at this point a blessing. I’ve been saying this from the beginning: this is just a summer to bide time. After this year, something like $40 million dollars come off the books, so they can ditch most of their dead weight, bring in some quality players (PLEASE NO PUJOLS!!!), let the kids have another year of experience under their belts, and with a little bit of luck, Hendry will be face down in a ditch! :wink:

^^You still have to be disappointed though when they play THAT bad. That was worse than little league. Oh, and Quade has got to go—he will be the first manager fired this season–guarantee it. He has lost this team before he even had it. Cashner just had a setback, no reason to keep Quade. Oh, and if you keep him, there will be NOBODY in the stands by June.

The Reds broadcasters, AKA Marty Brenneman, hates everybody that is not a Red or a Reds fan. He was blasting Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan yesterday and then got called out by LaRussa. Oh, and Brenneman has been a Cubs hater for YEARS.

it wasn’t marty b, it was jeff brantley and thom brennaman on fox sports ohio. but yeah, marty hates the cubs as do most reds fans since they like to invade our stadium. no hate here though. i dislike the cardinals more than any other baseball team that isn’t the yankees.

Wow, what’s more shocking is it’s happened more than once. Four unearned runs in an inning??

But yeah…like Clark said, it’s not that big a surprise that they suck again. Baseball’s such a funny sport where guys can suck balls one year and the management will just trot them out again the next year and pray and somehow those same players will get magically better.

Ug…I wish our local Tigers announcers would be a little more critical. Every single player they watch is an “excellent player” or “one of the best at his position” and every manager of every team is “a good, smart manager” and all this mushy stuff. Sheesh it gets tiresome. When the Tigers play the Sox I always hope the game is on WGN so I can watch the White Sox announcers who at least have a little objectivity. Of course, the Sox announcer has an INCREDIBLY annoying play-call of “He Gone!” EVERY time a pitcher strikes out a guy…man, how forced. Though it’s especially funny when a team scores a bunch of runs on the Sox and then there’s a strikeout and he still says it but he’s clearly not feeling it. Maybe space out the catchphrase once or twice a game, eh buddy?

i guess that the reds figured if they couldn’t get the no-hitter, we shouldn’t even win the fucking game. oh well, no biggie. the cardinals lost so we didn’t lose any ground. indians now have a 6 game lead. reds will probably win today since homer bailey is pitching.
