MOCK SHOW: Epic NYE - print & art from Miami

Mock Show: EPIC NYE takes over practically the entire 14th Floor of the EPIC Hotel in Miami, Florida Wednesday, December 30th, 2009 to welcome over 30 exhibitors to our second installation of the popular afternoon poster and art convention. This show is so EPIC we’ve added an extra hour on to enjoy all the art. The event now runs from 10am until 3pm and is just blocks from the American Airlines Arena where the parking lot opens just as our doors close.

Following in the footsteps of Mock Show: RED ROCKS in Denver, Colorado this past August, EPIC NYE welcomes exhibitors from around the world including official Phish artists Jim Pollock, David Welker, Jeff Wood, Justin Helton and Sei Rey Ho of Us & Them Studio who along with Wood are showcasing at Mock Show for the first time. We’re pleased to welcome back core contributors to the scene such as Ryan Kerrigan, Tripp, AJ Masthay, Isadorah Bullock, Fred Hosman of HoscoPress, Bruce Horan, Erin Cadigan, Uncle & Aunt Ebeneezer, Ryan Jerzy, Jamie Huntsman, Michael Ortiz & Jon Lamb of LikeMindedProductions, Ian Millard, Noah Phence and Drew Findley of Subject Matter Studios. Showing for the first time along with Wood & Ho are newcomers Vince Naro, Franky Scaglione and Mock Show creator, Jason Kaczorowski showcasing his concert/festival and celebrity portrait photography in a special exhibition. We welcome back non-profit organizations Waterwheel Foundation, Mockingbird Foundation, PhanArt and our main beneficiary, Headcount.

Mock Show partners with Headcount.org who’ll receive portions of event proceeds. Headcount will be sponsoring an exciting opportunity for patrons to engage themselves in the democratic process of voting by helping stage a juried art event wherein patrons will receive ballots upon entry (and previously online) to “vote” for the their artists spanning various categories including “Best of Show”, “Best New Artist”, “Best Mock Show Poster" among others. These votes will be tallied and awards will be presented during a very exclusive VIP banquet ceremony Thursday, December 31st, 2009 from Noon-4pm. The awards ceremony will feature an additional surprise roster of artists exhibiting in a currently undisclosed location. Check back November 30th when tickets go on sale to learn how you can be one of only 100 special VIP guests to attend this inaugural awards ceremony dubbed “The Posties” where the coveted “Golden Tubes” will be distributed to artists voted best in their field. You’ll have an unique opportunity to talk candidly with artists, browse an exclusive collection of fine art on display, attend the afternoon’s inaugural “Posties” ceremony all while enjoying a premium open bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres. More information at on the Mock Show website starting Monday, November 30th, 2009 when tickets go on sale.

Love the color in the Stout and Naro posters. The cube is sick!

Holy crap, those all are all excellent!

Thanks for posting, gamecat.

The Wood is excellente.

^ Those Koi fish on Wood’s look beautiful.

*EDIT: Apparently, the Jeral Tidwell (Run of 60) has run into some problems with the Phish management.
I guess he put “Phish” on his first run with the dates for Miami,…well…Phish management confiscated them citing property rights. He then reprinted them without the word “Phish” on it and now calls it an art piece, not a show poster.

Pretty interesting conversations on some of the poster talk forums concerning this and how Phish handles this type of thing in regards to art, shirts, etc.

^ I can’t even read the comments on that print’s main page… must be locked

I found a good debate in the forum, though. Entertaining read so far. :eh:

I picked up the wood poster that thing is sweet

sick posters! find some of them on phanart.net/blog and raise some money for Mockingbird!

Good times, had fun, thanks!

Oh my god I want that cube!

i still need a sick poster from miami AND 8…

im sorry but i loathe those motherfuckers who have their friends ‘save’ their place in line, then buy 3 fucking posters a each and put them on ebay… totally fucks everyone over, and for what? so we have to pay more to cherish the official poster that was 50 fuckin bux but now 250? just really fucking irks me… if someone every happens to catch an eye of a miami print (any of em) or 8 pollock for a reasonable price, please point me in the direction… this makes me a sad sloth…
