^fuck u…jk but really…not funny!!!
sorry, a poor attempt at humor. i’ll do better
Lately I think Gotta Jibboo and 46 Days are underrated. I like the newer songs, and they were finally taken Jibboo some new and interesting places after mostly doing the same thing with it in 99 and 00.
Fast Enough especially gets so much hate on the boards - I don’t know how many times its happened and i have never even heard a recording of it but has anyone heard a fast enough . if i could like on Rift
Underrated Phish Song = Mound.
The slow beginning is great, all four members clicking to make one weird sounding song, then it is sped up. Thats my type of Phish!
I’d have to put Esther in my Top 3 Phish songs. The imagery in that song is unmatched. Every time I hear it, I just picture a small New England town (Burlington anyone?) with a bunch of moderately crazy townsfolk chasing this girl around. I also think of scenery from the movie “Big Fish” for some reason. Great song though.
There are too many underrated Phish songs. not neccesarily my favorite, but what i think is the most underrated is probably Waste, but for Jams YEM.
^You Enjoy Myself. Underrated? That’s crazy.
when a song is called the quintessential song for a particular band there is no way that it can me underrated.
I think YEM is overrated. j/k! It is their quintessential song, and they played it at something like 40% of their shows. Nobody will ever agree that it’s underrated or overrated: it is Phish.
meh i mean with 46 days its a good song but keep in mind that the structure of the song is soooooo simple that even phish stoned could manage to pull it off very well every time
I always thought the jam in the end of “If I Could” was rather pleasant and refreshing, moreso on the album release. The live setting doesn’t quite capture it.
any of their more mellow, slow-tempo tunes: fast enough, friday, dirt, lifeboy…
Underrated and under-played: Billy Breathes
^I agree, except Friday that one never did it for me, i would rather have All of these Dreams
interesting choises everyone. horn from the moment i heard it had a special place in my heart. slave live is amazing. i can go home and listen to it, same version even, and hate it. it is no good to me out of the live, in person experience. now to the topic at hand. spock’s brain is awesome imo as with hahaha. both are musical shining moments intheir catalog. but as for the studio, i would agree with mound. it’s a very haunting to me vocally and lyrically. and gordo makes his presence known.
Lifeboy is my new favorite underrated song. I hadn’t heard it a long time and I was listening to 6.18.94, (thanks BIG DUDE) and now I’m in love with it. Great little tune.
thats what i am talking about! I love mound, but there isn’t really enough of hype about it.
i think all phish songs are underrated because not enough people appreciate them
How about when they hit a great Camel walk… Very underrated. Or the ever great Sample in a jar…Or Mango…
