Just curious if there are any moments in your life that thinking back, you would request a “do over” and if so, what you might do differently
Tough one. I think, when my high school guidance counselor advised me to pursue a career other than writing, recording & performing original music, that maybe I should have punched him straight in the face.
HaHa. You first.
For starters, that DUI I could have maybe done a bit differently. The whole not-trying-in-school thing sure didn’t work for me. Figuring I wouldn’t get hooked on cigarettes kind of backfired as well. And then there’s the relationship thing…yeah…well, how do you ever know?
Well lets see
Would definitely have gone on to Raleigh after 2 nights of Phish in Atlanta when my crush asked me to instead of hurrying to get back to my easily replaceable minimum wage job.
Would have stopped the weight gain after the first 10 pounds.
Probably would have waited a year or two to start college and gone on Phish tour.
Only problem with mulligans in my life is that any or all of these might have altered the course of my life so that my daughter wouldn’t be here right now and I’d do it all again the exact same way just to have her.
two seperate breakups from my past. i cringe at how i handled those. i was a quivering mess. pathetic. i’d do those over. they were learning experiences i suppose.
other than that, i don’t think i have too many regrets.
posting in the grateful chili thread
I definitely wouldn’t have tried to reach the green in two on that par-5 surrounded by water when it clearly would have been smart to leave a wedge in for birdie.
Regret is not something I believe in because I am the happy man I am today as a result of all my choices, good and bad.
The only thing I wish would have happened sooner was meeting Marie. But then again, if we had met when we were younger, maybe we wouldn’t have been ready for one another and our relationship would have never flourished as it has.
hole # 8, put it right into the water, screwed my score up by 2 strokes, could have really used a mulligan then
Having that 3-way from Skyline just before embarking on a 4-hour drive a few years back…
Nice!!
^If not for the Food network, I would have no idea what you are talking about. So, is that really the best Chili? Is it good in the can too? Can you send me a can?
I wouldn’t say it is the best chili, but it is damn good.
Looks the same going in as coming out.
And yes, I can send you a can.
Me moms is going down to Cinci for my grammas 86th birfday next week. Already put my order in
I will take no do-overs.
That is not to say I have done no wrong or would not have done certain things differently, quite the contrary. But, I am not prescient, and the past cannot be changed without the future being altered, and those theoretical changes would be paradoxical in nature with near infinite ramifications (great, now I’m dizzy).
My point is, knowing that we would do things differently is enough, or at least it should be, to prevent most people from making the mistakes they’d like to change, again. But pining for those changes only impeeds progress.
“There’s no crying in Baseball!”
I would have never watched A League of Their Own.
I don’t really have anything that I wish I had never done. I wasted too much time dragging out a relationship that was clearly sunk and wish I’d finished it earlier, but other than that not much.
last night.
