music that you listen to that you're ashamed of

MEAT LOAF

There is absolutly no reason to be ashamed of listening to KISS, they are one of the most smoking and fire breathingest bands ever. Also Duran Duran is awsome, I have been listening to them pretty much my whole life…If you get a chance check out the Video DURAN DURAN at scope out the unedited videos for the Chauffeur and Girls on film…most excelent

There’s been threads like this before but I’m a big fan of Madonna, The Bangles, and ABBA (I think ABBA is vastly underrated…the folks were decades ahead of their time). I also like numerous cheesy 80’s songs…not the band itself but just a cheesy song or two. You know, like Amadeus, When Smokey Sings, One Night in Bangkok, that kind of thing. And I also like Dave Matthews Band which is a sin around here. Same with Bisco apparently. LOL

do not be afraid…

Check this out too:
Name a band you listen to, but shouldn’t
http://ohkeepa.proboards36.com/index.cgi?board=non&action=display&thread=2824

Not to say that this is not a good thread or you should stop posting in it or anything. Sometimes I see a new thread that is like a thread I’ve seen before, so I try to find the link for everyone else.

wow, that thread got a bunch more responses than my thread! btw, how did you find that link? or actually a better question I have been wondering about, how would I go about looking up all of the threads that I have created? I know there is a way to look up posts, but what about all of our threads? like, say I wanted to find a thread that I made back in March, how is that done?

I really like Melvins and Helmet, but don’t really tell people that because they might think I’m crazy…also Pantera…Vulgar Display of Power is a great record.

i tell you one band i don’t listen to, and WOULD be ashamed of if i did: Bon Jovi.

now that is one bad band. Bon means “good” in French. Good Jovi. no. Bad Jovi.

Helmet rocks, so does Pantera

nothing to be ashamed of there

Huey Lewis?

Is Huey Lewis & the News one of them?

“We all miss The News but Huey Lewis needs time to create.”

The heart of rock 'n roll IS still beating when i listen to Huey Lewis & The News.

what about theme songs?

the A Team?

Magnum P.I.?

that shit rocks.

belaired

When a person begins to speak about a subject and then works in the lyrics to a certain theme song, the origins of the term originate in West Philadelphia where I was born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days, chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool and all shootin’ some b-ball outside the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood. Got in one little fight and my mom got scared, said you’re moving with your Auntie and Uncle in Belair.

OH SHI- you just got belaired

no one that i can think of.

so, is there anyway to search our own threads, or is it just the posts?

I have one that I want to bump

You can narrow it down to sections of the boards, but you can’t just search through your own posts I don’t think.

On the bright side, there’s only 328 of them to dig through.

its a myth

the search feature doesn’t work properly.

There are a few different ways to search the board. First, you can click on the search at the top of the page. You get lots of options for which boards to check, posts, threads, etc. Or you can click on search at the top of a board when you open an individual board. That will search only within that board. (Board, board, board…the word has now lost all meaning to me. It has become just a sound.) Or you can search posts from an individual member. Click on a name, or on your own profile at the top of the page. Scroll down to the recent posts and put a number in the box. The only problem is that the maximum number of results it can return is 1000. My first posts are the ones I want to see, but I don’t know how to retrieve them. I’m only about 400 over 1000. To see any of Will or Neil’s first posts is an impossibility. I think the Oh Kee Pa would explode.

I’d love to see what my first post was. Actually, the other day I found a post I made on slightly less than 24 hours after I signed up. I think it was in Album Discussion somewhere.

My first actual post was probably something queefy like “Hey guys, I’m Neil, and I love Phish!”

Actually some of the earlier Bon Jovi like the New Jersey album is actually pretty good…Jon Bon Jovi’s Young Guns II soundtrack is pretty sweet too. However, it’s appalling how bad this band has become from the “Bed of Roses” era to about now. If I was a really hardcore fan of them, I’d be horribly embarrassed…they ain’t even the same band anymore.

And I like Huey Lewis too…he’s pure 80’s through and through but it’s still catchy.
