boomerang
here’s a good link if you havn’t seen it

http://www.treyanastasio.com/treysrig/

The two green ones on the left by HomeBrew Electronics. The dark green one is a compressor/sustainer and the light green is PowerScreamer/overdrive. I also have TS-9 that’s not in the pic. The middle one is a Dunlop Wah and the far right is a Q-Tron enevelope filter. I think Mutron somehow became Q-Tron along the way, but I could be wrong.

so far this is giving me some good ideas. i’ll prob get a couple of things when i get back from minneapolis. where should i start? the screamer? also, do you guys all use pedal boards for your power linking? what is a good board?

go with a pedal board… saves the money for the constant replacement of 9volts (always unplug your pedals if you use 9vs)

as for good boards, i too am in search of one so if anyone has input on this feel free to elaborate

Stay away from the boomerang. NOISE!!!

what are these pedal boards everyone speaks of?

^I like loopers. I’ve had the boomerang in my setup for a couple years now but its started to phase its way out. I’m working on either getting or modding all of my pedals to be true bypass so that I don’t get any noise. Simply having the Boomerang plugged in gives a lot of hiss to your sound if you really listen.

what is the boss looper that guitar player mag rate as the best looper out there?

I think its called the Loop Station.

yeah, one of the loop stations. They have a nice selection of them now. the huge one, the double-sized, and the single tiny thing.

and the price tag?

i’ve decided that i’ll prob start with teh ts-9, a boss tuner, and the giga delay. this should get me started. then i’ll prob check out that digitech whammy. question, what does and envelope filter do?

it’s like an auto wah pedal. depending on how hard you strum or pick, the wah effect will be sharper. it’s used primarily for chording.

damn icc. that thing looks so bad ass

good choice with the giga delay. Middle ground of features and price, and loops are SO fun to play with.

Think about the wah’s on Shakedown Street.

If your gonna get real anal about tone, I suggest get a rack eq/compressor/envelope. They can really clean up a big mess of effects into a nice even sound. And the reason I say a rack one is because I find stompbox eq/compressor/envelope sound way too processed. Unless thats what your going for.

i got the ts9 and the boss chromatic tuner today. was going to get the giga delay, but didn’t realize that sucker is like $250. it’ll have to wait a week or so.

yeah, they are sort of expensive.

I might be getting one of the boss Loop Stations, but the smaller two-pedal model. Used, don’t know how much yet.

I was talking about the TS-9 to a friend n he said it wouldn’t make sense to get one unless you had a tube amp…is this true? As I still only have a solid state and not a tube amp…

Also I’m thinking bout gettin a delay pedal, and after talking to the owner of a small guitar shop owner, I feel his description of an “analog” delay fits my style of playing which goes from funk, rock, and psychadelic. Can anyone give me more insight on the difference between analog and digital delay pedals? What do you use? Suggestions?
