Members of The String Cheese Incident, ALO and Trey Anastasio Band have formed the new super group Incidental Animals. The ensemble will feature The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth (keyboards), ALO’s Dan Lebowitz (guitar), Steve Adams (bass) and Dave Brogan (drums), and Trey Anastasio Band’s Jen Hartswick (trumpet).

The five musicians have all crossed paths over the years and originally decided to form this project for a wedding gig. Members of ALO and String Cheese recently collaborated during the latter band’s annual Horning’s Hideout event. The November run will include stops at West Chester, PA’s The Note (11/20), New York’s Brookyn Bowl (11/21) and Baltimore, MD’s Soundstage (11/22). TAB trombonist Natalie Cressman will also join the band at the Brooklyn Bowl show.

The recently formed quintet will offer selections from the SCI and ALO repertoires, covers and songs from their solo catalogs.

Tickets for these three exclusive shows go on sale through venue box offices and websites this Saturday, September 14 at 10 am ET.

Here’s a look at Incidental Animals’ upcoming dates:

November 20 West Chester, PA—The Note
November 21 Brooklyn, NY—Brooklyn Bowl (with Natalie Cressman)
November 22 Baltimore, MD—Soundstage

I don’t know much about ALO and I’ve never really gotten into Cheese, so I’ll leave the judgments up to those who know more…would be cool to see Trey at one of these smaller venues though

Neat.

Is this a super group?

Did we lower the bar and I missed the memo?

(not a slight at anyone here, more so on the jambase article)

I wouldn’t take the word “super” so literally with these things…and that could probably be taken as a slight on some of these guys if you want

Title of thread is misleading. No actual Trey in this band. Just a chick from TAB.

Also not a ‘Super’ Band as it is only 5 members and not the sum of all members of their respective bands.

But hey, the misleading info did make us look!

I support any band w horns.

wow, you’re right…this is how it was posted somewhere else, and I could’ve sworn it said Trey was also in the band (obviously or else I wouldn’t have made that last comment in the OP)…I misread it myself, lo siento

but ftr, super group doesn’t mean it contains every member of two or more bands…really just a term that has come to mean band members from already well known bands, i.e. Traveling Wilburys or Chickenfoot

Someone called?
