bwahahaha
Let’s hear it for Apron Man on the hammer solo!
;D
Vegas '96 is on the way… I believe.

source…?
Relix CD sampler.
I actually heard this show for the first time the other day and LOVED IT. So many stellar versions of a lot of songs. Just a great all-around show.

12/06/96 Aladdin Theater Las Vegas, NV
As Relix subscribers have already discovered via their CD Sampler, a new live Phish recording is slated for release this fall. 12/06/96 Aladdin Theater Las Vegas, NV captures the band’s final show on a thirty-five date tour. The version of “Julius” that appears on the sampler, opens the second set of a show that is best-known for its encore. Primus’ Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde joined in for much of “Harpua,” which also featured guest appearances by John McEuen and four Elvis impersonators, with Primus’ drummer Brian Mantia later stepping for the “Suzy Greenberg” that followed and closed out the night.

SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!
12/6/96. Everyone probably has heard this show a million times, but today is my first listen.
Listening to the first set this morning. It’s one of those where it feels like they are at spinning at hyper speed. This is the energy that makes live Phish an experience like nothing else. The Wilson immediately hits you. If you were there, you’d know you were in for the full treatment 15 seconds into it. Even Poor Heart is off the hook. The 2001 is still aggressive and experimental, but also expansive and funky. The Llama is unfolding so quickly it transports your brain into a state of sub-atomic awareness. This is the amazing power of musicians who may be channeling alien intelligence and re-imprinting your mind with the secrets of quantum activity, and it’s only a Llama. There’s a YEM, in here, too.
Not to mention a fantastic “Julius.”
I’m not even a big “Julius” fan, but this one might be the best one I’ve ever heard.
that YEM is teh_chronic
This show is not really that available - check the well known file sites and there’s nothing. I don’t recall seeing it on etree for quite awhile, and even if you want to stream it from sugarmegs, the source cuts out from Weekapaug through the entire encore!!! >:(
Bunk.
It seems like such a fancy setlist, all the guests, it’s a Vegas show… and it’s a great performance. It’s an obvious highlight from Fall/Winter '96. I’d have figured this would be old hat by now for the obsessives. Great choice for a release.
Who’s obsessive?
::reads own list::
::checks it twice::
::gotta find out which source is nice::
;D
Even if you take the Vegas and encore factors away from this show, it’s still top-notch IMO.
???
This show has been seeded 3 separate times in the past year.
This one still has 2 seeders on it.

Fall '96 is 1 of my favorite tours, underated in my view. And I’m glad this next release is not another '95 show. Enough already.
I get relix and hadn’t even looked at the sampler yet. Sure enough there’s Julius on there and a picture of the band right on the disc.
Even if you take the Vegas and encore factors away from this show, it’s still top-notch IMO.
Oh, I agree. That’s just the surface appeal, the sweet, sweet innards are what is truly rewarding.
I just figured that one look at the setlist would make most folks drool. Maybe Phishheads are are too-cool for that shit these days.
I know I am.
