New Year's Eve Guide 2008, what are you doing?

I MIGHT…that’s a big might…go out to B.C. to see my mom and sister and since Franti is playing there for New Years…we MIGHT hit that show up. I’ve seen him twice already this year though and I find what he does incredibly cheesy for the most part, but I wouldn’t mind being part of a large crowd instead of the usual boring ass house party that I end up going to every year. Plus getting out of Regina for a bit might be just what the doctor ordered. I’ve been ringing in new years with the same 30 people or so for the last 7 years, and we don’t even really hang out anymore outside of this once a year new years shindig. It always ends up being way more fun than I make it sound, but still…I want a big NYE concert experience.

probably not even leaving town. I have money-saving priorities now.

maybe have a party at my crib…you know, the usual. drinkin’/druggin’/hopin’ to get laid

You go Hank.

the last band i saw on NYE was Phish and at I’m just starting to get to the point where i would bring myself to see another band. But there’s not really any shows lined up for me to go to down here. Which is fine because I like to do things differently every year. The past 5 NYEs have gone something like this.

03/04: Phish Miami
04/05: house party
05/06: attempted Everglades campout > getting lost > celebrating midnight at a gas station in the middle of nowhere > retreating back to friends’ house > getting drunk and listening to Miami Phish show
06/07: successful swampland campout with different friends
07/08: spontaneous road trip to Key West with the reconnected old flame and brother to scoop up best friend who road my bike down there earlier in the week > 3 days of no sleep wild adventure

so this year i really don’t know what i’m gonna do but i would like to keep up with the adventurous progression of the past few years. I’d be kind of dissapointed if i wound up in downtown Ft Lauderdale surrounded by douche bags.

^thats amazing that you can remember the last 4 New Years with that much accuracy

^my memory has been featured in National Geographic.

I’m kinda bummed out about new year’s. It’s always been one of my favorite nights of the year. I had planned to hit a show close to home. The Avett Brothers are playing not too far away in Charlotte and I’m sure there will be some fun to do’s around a town like A’ville. Thanks to my new job, however, I have to work both NYE and new year’s day. My daughter will be in Alabama with the crazy people that week, but I still probably won’t do anything more than chill with my bf at home and fall asleep at 9p as usual. I’m so friggin lame!

Wu years!!!

Good show and with VIP there is an acoustic set for us with Champagne… Good times!

And what does Michigan get? Blind Melon. Good Lord.

Wu Year

I’d be most excited about seeing Hyentyte.

I remember what I was doing for every single NYE dating back to 1995->1996.

Last year was the first NYE I didn’t even go out at all. And it wasn’t that bad, really. I’ll probably do the same this year. I’m an old fart…

Stevo

I have no major plans… would like to see a band.

Was planning on RRE in PA… but NOOOOO they have to play Oregon ;D

^ There’s no double secret party is there? That’s crazy.

You guys will have such a blast.

Look who just walked in the door…

That’s about all the Wu I know, but I loved 'em the one time I saw them even though I ended up missing MMW -/w Trey because of it. I don’t regret a moment of that.
