At least now I won’t be as conflicted as I might have been by a Packers/Jets Superbowl. Now I can freely root for the Pack against a team I dislike almost as much as I do the Cowboys.

Wow…Bears…I don’t think I’ve seen worse coaching in a big game. Lovie Smith was coaching that thing like it was a Week 5 regular season game and they could rebound the next week.
The Cutler thing…look, we don’t exactly know what was injured but I do know the dude was standing and walking around on the sidelines with the knee not even wrapped or anything. I’m not blaming Cutler but Lovie’s excuse was the medical people said no and that was that. Sorry…I don’t buy it…if that was Favre, or Brady or Peyton or Brees or Roethlisberger (already on a broken ankle) or anyone like that do you think the coach would just say “Oh well…the meds say you can’t play!” and that would be that? No frickin way. It’s the frickin NFC TITLE GAME!! Bears players have been injuring themselves and playing on those injuries ALL YEAR just to get to that point and then they bench their QB for THAT? Sorry…don’t buy it…that’s a game where you pull out all the stops.
To be fair, I give them credit for blowing out the horrendous Todd Collins for Hanie who was at least a wildcard and played really well. Sadly, it took them the entire 3rd quarter to realize it when 68 yards and 5 INTS for Collins in the regular season somehow wasn’t enough for them.
But that’s not the worst part…what a pair of absolute WUSSY punts. First they pass up a 50-yarder early on and punt from around the Packers’ 35 and the atrocity of punting from the 32!!! later in the same half! Again, they were coaching like they were playing again next week. Even worse, on the 2nd punt, they had 3rd and 11 and Cutler purposely scrambled and didn’t throw it because he didn’t want to lose yards for the field goal. (And the worst was the punt went in the endzone and it took exactly ONE play for Green Bay to get back to where they had punted the ball from…at the very worst, go for it on 4th down from that range). Lovie made this horrible excuse that he didn’t think the kicker would hit it when we all know Robbie Gould can hit field goals from that range. So let’s say they kick those two field goal…it’s 14-6 at halftime, then on one of the two Hanie TDs, they could have gone for two and then it would have been 21-21 and tied during Hanie’s final drive and they could have been playing for a field goal for the win rather than a TD to tie. That Bears D killed themselves and shut down the Pack in the 2nd half and it was wasted due to these pussy decisions by Lovie Smith. I don’t even really like the Bears but man I can’t stand pussy coaching, especially in the playoffs. Some of these coaches really need a “Common Sense Coordinator” or something.
And the Team of Destiny Jets…ouch…looked awfully flat in the 1st half…it’s almost like they need some sort of motivation to play well…they had the Peyton/Brady stuff in the first two games but really no beef against the Steelers…it wasn’t until they had been punched in the mouth that they played better. Still disagree with the Jets punting with 3 minutes remaining but I guess it’s understandable with all the timeouts. Lots of time wasted by the Jets on their last TD drive…and that’s on coaching because Sanchise really wanted to keep moving and the plays weren’t coming in.
Ah well…Packers/Steelers Super Bowl has a nice ring to it. Hard one to pick. Green Bay is hot now but Steelers are no pushover.
I hope it goes to overtime and no one ever wins. Hugely devastating loss for the bears.
Ok… I was right for the last round, now let me predict the next…
Steelers 23
Packers 17
BTW, that Bears game was a flop, I mean all the hype the Bears had going in and the ‘D’ etc…
Meh…
I have said it once and will say it again, the AFC has the better teams in the NFL as of today.
Cutler had a Sprained MCL in the 2nd Quarter…I would love to see anyone in the Media ripping Cutler for not playing, to try to WALK OR RUN, let alone play QB in the NFL on a Sprained MCL, it’s painful as fuck!!!
It was the Coaching Staff that made the decision to pull him and even said if they had won the game, Cutler MOST LIKELY would not have played in the Super Bowl…
And fuck Brees and Rivers for saying they played “with similar injuries”…YOUR TRAINERS SHOULD BE FIRED FOR LETTING MUTI-MILLION DOLLAR QB’S GO OUT THERE AND PLAY WITH A TEAR IN THEIR KNEE!!!
My Steelers had me SICK TO MY STOMACH in the 2nd Half…I thought I was witnessing the greatest collapse in Pittsburgh sports history with that ill-fated Jets comeback… ![]()
Super Bowl should be AWESOME!!!
GO STEELERS!!!

I think i’m gonna root for the Pack to win the big one
I say steelers over pack
You better
pack all the way
i’ll be dead and buried before i ever root for the steelers.
I matchup is pretty even to me and you can think of fifty reasons for each side for why they’ll win. So I’m picking Steelers for these reasons:
- Aaron Rodger’s hair looked like crap during the Big Ben/Rodgers interview at halftime of the Pro Bowl. Bad sign
- Brett Keisel’s beard. No one’s losing with a beard like that:
- I’ve grown up disliking the Packers and would rather cheer the Steelers.
- Did I mention the beard?
So there. Perfectly good reasons. I pick Steelers.
Almost Time for…
Super excited for Super Bowl. Have fun everyone!!! Go Pack!!!
Hmmm, I never knew that Michiganders dislike the Packers growing up.
I’m going for the Packers for absolutely no reason, even though I do like Mike Tomlin. I have never cared about pro football very much, and though I like the Giants because my family is friends with the Mannings (and my cousin was Eli’s teammate and roommate at Ole Miss), I have no horse in this particular race. I’m going for the Packers based entirely on the fact that I like the area around Green Bay, Wisconsin a lot better than the Pittsburgh area.
Thank God football is over…Bring on the Cubbies! ![]()
Yeah, at least they have a chance to win it all, right?
