NFL 2016

Whelp, there’s actual REAL football tonight! And it counts and everything.

Neat little rematch since you wonder if Denver’s defense at home can shut down Cam again…and least enough for Siemian to score a few points. I grabbed Carolina but I’m not very thrilled about it.

Not sure about my Lions. Obviously I think Caldwell sucks but I think we’re also doing some mild rebuilding on the O-Line. We have a lot of young folks and most rookies usually suck at O-Line in their first year so I kinda feel we “have to suck” at that position just to get these guys into it. Sadly, this also means that Matt Stafford may get murdered this year. It’s hard to get that excited when I don’t like my coach and think my QB will be getting killed. Guess we’ll see.

I keep an eye on my Lions and now that I’m in San Diego, the Chargers. I guess Oakland, Denver, and KC all have a shot of taking the AFC West. No hope for the Chargers…

My big decision right now is to get the traditional powder/sky blue jersey or the navy blue jersey.

^You never know. Rivers often seems to keep SD relevant but their defense will probably keep them out. I do think the powder blue is a bit overrated so I would probably go with the darker version…I think I just like the softer colors there.

Wow, sweet game last night…Denver looked like toast in the first half and the start of the second but wow they turned it around. The D still looks as sick as ever.

I just ordered tix to see Da Bears play the Lions at Ford Field this December. They both suck pretty hard, so it should be a real shit show. Who’s been there? Is it nice?

Ford Field’s pretty nice. Lots of venders and decent room and big bathrooms and all that good stuff. I don’t know if it stands out since I haven’t been to a lot of football places but it’s pretty comfortable.

And, yes, what a dumpster fire that game is. Have fun.

I see El Bastarde’s scrappy Lions found a way to win their bye week! Jeez Louise the NFC North is weak.

^LOL. Yes, we sit back and do nothing and we’re now in first place. I mean, if no one else in the division really wants first, we’ll take it, I guess. What a weird season and a weird Lions team. They looks so sloppy in many areas yet they’ve been able to just hang in there and win. Just a confusing year.

At least last week’s games were pretty entertaining throughout. Sunday was wild.

There is paperwork filed for the Browns Perfect 0-16 Season Parade.

^Taking a bad joke too far, I see. Come on, Cleveland, take your 0-16 season with dignity. I didn’t see folks in Detroit pulling this nonsense…if anything, we were glad it got Millen fired.

Speaking of, another Lions game, another close game they have to pull out in the 4th quarter. Though this win felt a lot more inevitable than the others…I kinda felt they’d just get it done, even if they were losing through most of it. Big showdown this Thursday with the Vikings. Have no idea what to expect.

The season goes from bad to worse for The Bears!

  • 2-8
  • 2 PED Suspensions. (Jeffery & Freeman - It seems like guys who can’t read their supplement labels correctly are the only ones who get caught. The league should look into this. )
  • Injuries out the wazoo. (Cutler, Miller, Long, Floyd…)

Clearly the labels just need to be bigger. They should work with the pharmaceutical companies to improve this.

And, man, I stared at Jeffrey multiple times in fantasy drafts this year and just told myself “No” each time. Glad I did.

Big Lions/Vikings game this weekend! Never thought this would have any division or playoff implications this late in the league but here we are. Have no idea how it’ll go.

Last I saw Lions were the slight favorites. The line is at 2.5 right now, which is pretty much what they give the home team in a push.

I think it is more of a tongue-in-cheek joke.

Back in the Summer months, after the Cavs win, paperwork was filed for the Indians parade (somewhat jokingly).

And they came awfully close to actually winning it all.

All in all, the ranking of Cleveland sports goes: Browns>Indians>Cavs.
There was a HUGE parade for the Cavs, and I would imagine it would be at least doubled for either the Browns or the Indians.

Oh, it’s a bit of a parody then. Funny.

It’s funny since Detroit is the same way. Despite the success of the Wings and Pistons and such in the past, the Lions are easily the biggest joke of a team but they’re by far the most popular and the city would just plain burn down if we won it all. NFL is King.

Yeah, Vegas no clue here. Both teams have talent but we have no clue what to expect from them on a given week. GO LIONS!

Meanwhile In LA

Quite the operation they got going over there…

Good to see this getting some National attention and that people are starting to see that it wasn’t St. Louis who failed the Rams or NFL…

Wonder how long LA will put up with this and realize Stan don’t care… Look at his other teams he owns, mediocre at best…

What’s funny is the “Why is Jeff Fisher still employed?” thing is something that has been going on since his last years in Tennessee. Dude had a good string of success when McNair was his QB and has basically been a sub-.500 coach ever since then. Despite that, he managed to stay at Tennessee for FAR too long and has done the same for the Rams.
So maybe it’s not just the Rams since he managed to hoodwink Tennessee for years as well. There’s just this weird perception that he’s one of he “elite” coaches because he won a bunch of games with McNair and made it to a super bowl like 15 years ago. I still have to hear announcers refer to him in this way…clearly he’s hoodwinking everyone that’s “in the business” and no one who is outside.

Though, to be fair, the attendance in St Louis was always pathetic. There were some Rams teams that were actually competitive and were in the race for the playoffs and there still wouldn’t be anyone in the stands. I understand folks not going when they suck but, even when they were decent, folks weren’t showing. They’ve been in the bottom 5 in attendance for the last decade and certainly before Fisher ever took over. In 2003, they went 12-4 and were 11th worst in attendance. Basically any season that didn’t involve Kurt Warner has been awful in attendance. If you go that long with that bad attendance than I’m not exactly crying for you when an owner decides that the fans don’t care.

As a Bears fan, I would love to cheer on my team in the playoffs again, but there are days that cheering against the Packers in the playoffs is just as satisfying. Sunday was one of those days.

I would have loved to see a Raiders / Lions Superbowl. I am sick of seeing the same 5 / 6 teams, so I am happy to see one new face in the big game.

but there are days that cheering against the Packers in the playoffs is just as satisfying. Sunday was one of those days.

Agreed. I’ve been on quite the “Fuck the Pack” run since they’ve started this “run the table” nonsense. Glad they finally got exposed by the Falcons.

so I am happy to see one new face in the big game.

I’m still taking the Pats but I hope we just get a good one. We’ve had maybe two decent games these entire playoffs and that’s if you consider the field-goal fest that was Steelers/Chiefs to be decent.
