Btw Will, nice use of authority on locking those threads on Gen Phish haha
Wasn’t me.
^ Grazie, Btw how do we put Youtube vids in posts?? I tried yesterday but not real sure how to do it?
Posting rules is definitely a good idea. I think it would be good to post a rules thread as an announcement, so it’s at the top of the page no matter what board you enter, just like the “Official Summer Tourdate Thread” is now.
^ Thats what the tube button was for :). Thanks…
You don’t want to impose to much order.
And like Sarah says, sometimes the bourgeois bullshit on some of these boards is out of control.
I would prefer to see a wait period, as opposed to a post count if something truly had to be done. There are pleanty of people who might visit a board every day, but only post once in a while. (raises hand)
And have no fear guys, the trash will filter back out. Most of them are looking for that testosterone boys club they so dearly crave, and they won’t find it here. ;D
Rules are for suckers.
Don’t overstep your boundaries, and enjoy the ride.

afloat upon the waves
there is a breeze when floating upon the waves, everybody try to remember that, all you have to do is think of wind surfing, ya know… they capture the breeze and use it as energy, we can all do the same
how bout a standardized test? if you fail you get the rejection email.
LOL. To be fair, she did preface her apology by saying that you have no life…or maybe she’s just referring to Neil.
Anyway…I see no reason to have rules like this. I’m more than happy locking dumb or duplicate threads until people get the hang of it. In fact, it kinda makes me feel like a man.
^^ Haha
Didn’n t mean to cause a stir
welcome…look around don’t make stupid threads
^my pm
Sorry sarsar for calling you a dude I’m over it. a general reaction to an overall annoyance with the abundance of clutter over the last few months (plus I was a bit tipsy I do believe). Please accept my humbleset appology FB
this board sucks.
if i’m not mistaken don’t new members registrations come with a PM from Ian giving you an overview and guidelines for the board?
FASCIST SCUM
How did I get here??? Oh yeah :::::runs back to “non-phish discussion”:::::::::::
yeah, i don’t think it needs to be regulated to the point of prohibiting thread-making until someone reaches a certain number of posts or time on the board…
it is quite annoying to have SOOOO much redundant info out there. i think it’s just a matter of people learning how the board works and also searching for a minute or two to make sure the exact same thread wasn’t already made…or a lot of times the thread they are making doesn’t need to be a thread at all, they could just add it to an older one on the same topic.
i usually just post a link in the new thread that was created, pointing someone to said older thread. hopefully that gets the point across a bit
regardless, i welcome all the new members whole-heartedly and hope we can all live in harmony on the 'Pa ;D
As far as the “rules when you join” thing. My two-cents: It would be really helpful. Not rules per se, but some general operating tips and guidelines. I don’t think I got a PM, but I did read a post for new members shortly after joining and it wasn’t very helpful. I am far from technologically savvy (I just read a whole thread about “skins” and I can’t for the life of me figure out what they are), so I would certainly appreciate even the most simple tips for navigating the boards, posting threads or replies, or personalizing my…stuff. I have found you can uncover some of this stuff by looking at old threads, but it is quite time consuming as a new member on an established board.
