Now my laptop is really pissing me off

Yes/No depends on what happened? Motherboard crash ='s yes, everything on HD no worries.

Other items/issues happening, I would venture to say yes but man there could be so many things, from a virus to hardware breaks…

Good luck Brady!

Have a read at the wiki article I linked way up there.

You know, read.

Wait if his computer is crashed, did he steal someones? LMAO… :wtf:

Aw … poor Brady! So sorry to hear that. I recently had an issue with my laptop not booting properly and unfortunately I had to fedEx it to our work computer guy to reformat >.<
I hope yours work out

i read the wiki article but then when i asked my cousin (not a computer expert but knows his stuff), he said that rebooting it erases everything and he’s never seen a hard drive come back from the blue screen of death.

… I’ll just got the extra mile and quote it for you.

This happened to me too…mine even started to smoke! I had to hand it over to the Geek Squad. :unamused:

Good god, man! A smoking laptop!

Geek Squad are not trained PC techs, they’re salesmen with a small amount of computer training.

Geek Squad doesn’t really sell anything.

They sell a service.

I’ve had them come to work many times, and they always get our systems running, and have never tried to push anything on us.

Brady … I went to This Website and posted a ‘Help Me’ thread in their Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forums. They have volunteers who help walk you through some steps to hopefully solve your problems.

At least it’s worth a try before you reformat.

Good Luck! Hugs

the services are way overpriced, and they don’t sell you the cheapest solution either. A friend of mine had a broken fan (it would cost around $20 to replace) Geek Squad’s solution: completely new system.

They’re really only doing what any smart business enterprise would do…

…some people recognize it, others don’t.

well, i started working this weekend so soon i’ll have money and can handle this. I’ll try those links up there at some point Pei-Yi and see if anything makes sense.

Welcome to America.

no matter what you’re fixing, its ALWAYS cheaper to do it yourself.

but first, you have to know what you’re doing.

I changed my own oil once, but only once, because it was just too much of a pain in the ass.

I like changing me own oil.

A lot easier on a Jeep than a Neon.

i usually fix my own car. Very easy on an old Volvo. But a lot of times if i’m financially stable i’ll just take it to a place to get the oil changed. It is a pain in the ass.

So a friend of a friend cured my Blue Screen of Death.

I’m on my laptop right now!

but none of my files are…

now i gotta get my external hard drive fixed. Most of the good stuff is on there.
