NYE Gag?

Guess I really didn’t think too much about it until I saw this on another site…and now I’m kinda curious.

Here is what we know so far about tonight…

1. David Gallo is designing the gag
2. David Gallo was spotted at MSG on 12/29 and 12/30
3. David Gallo leaked a circular type stage that will likely go under the scoreboard
4. David Gallo also leaked a few weeks ago “anyone want to build a time machine”, likely related to the gag
5. CK5 added a new set of lights around the MSG scoreboard
6. Phish has added a complete rig of new lights around the scoreboard
7. Phish has not played a cover song or Gamehendge song this NYE run so far

I had the thought about Gamehendge last night. No covers for 3 nights is a nice surprise, but I am having vivid imagery of ALS>Rock n’ Roll that would be absolutely euphoric and amazing.

No third set new years gag? Instead they did something different during the second set? Wow. The crowd must have been SO pissed that the band changed things up like that. I mean, people fly in from around the country to see a NEW YEARS gag! That’s what they do every year! That is what is expected. They could have played a truck set any other night and still done a third set new year’s gag. What a letdown it must have been for everyone to have the band play THEIR OWN MUSIC for a whole set! Phish sucks.

I love it. Love that Phish played 4 straight shows of only their songs. Whether it was Billy Joel or the 'ween spammers or whoever (whomever?) is unimportant… LOVE IT!
