Official '07-'08 NBA Thread

wait, no, NO!!!

I DID NOT SAY THAT!!!

How is the other number 2 seed lookin? ;D

Game 3’s in the first round always seem to be yawners. The road teams down 2-0 normally come up big and make it interesting at 2-1. The good teams come back and win that game 4. As far as the Utah/Houston series, however the road teams just keep winning.

I gotta say I was annoyed by T-Mac’s clip tonight about how everything was his fault. Well T-Mac win a playoff series and maybe the media will get off your back. I don’t care that Yao’s not there. No excuses.

How about Landry getting a front tooth knocked out and then blocking the last attempt by the Jazz. Gotta give props even though he’s a Purdue guy. Talk about a steal in the second round.

Funny that the Wizards dominated and Gilbert got hurt. I think they were doing just fine without you Gil. Take a couple more shots.

Well I hope Phoenix wins the next two games because to me that’s the only entertaining series. Unless Dallas can win 2 at home. I think they could. Well we’ll see.

I’m hoping Phoenix wakes up and plays well at home. I see them winning by…21.

Hellz fucking yes!

Fuckin’ Rockets, man. Landry had 13 points, 7 of them at the FT line, and 6 rebounds…ALL offensive. That’s the kind of guy you want coming off your bench. Utah is just too good.

C’mon, Suns!

Even with a cheap-shot from Stevenson… they can not stop the Cavs.

Delonte West looked unbelievable, and Boobie was knocking them down as well.

Losing game 3 so the Cavs can finish the Wizz off at home was a genius move. ;D

^ Ugh, that was a tough one to watch. I’m getting quite sick of seeing the Bullets lose to the Cavs in the playoffs every year. Good luck against the Celtics!

There’s going to be some real separation moving into the next round, which really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

All year, the Celtics, Pistons, Cavs and Magic were clearly the cream of the East.

Likewise, the Lakers, Spurs, Hornets and Jazz were the cream of the West.

LET’S GET IT ON!!!

Neil said cream.

Last year I got huge into the Warriors around this time.

I think this year it is the Hawks… great game last night.

Agreed. I didn’t really get into the Warriors, but I like the Hawks. Maybe because I’ve always liked the EC better than the WC.

Is it safe to say Joe Johnson has elevated himself into “superstar” status instead of just “star?”

I traded for him straight up, giving up Tracy McGrady, in my Yahoo! league and it paid dividends.

Boy oh boy i hope the those guys don’t let me down again!

Steveho

DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETROIT BASKETBALL!!!

Now that’s more like it!!!

I only refer to them as the Bullets because I’ve been a fan of them since then. I thought it was a cooler name and despise the name
Wizards, as it sounds ghey to me.

I agree with your assessment of Arenas though. The team plays so much better when he isn’t on the court. Hopefully they can at least put up a fight tonight and maybe squeak out a win, bringing the series back to Washington.

Don’t tell Spooks that!

D’antoni gone? Avery Johnson gone? Those trades didn’t work out too well. Shaq might have one good year left. Nash is on the downside of his career, but he’s still got a bare minimum of three above-average years left. Plus Stoudemire is a beast. They need to keep building around him.

Go Rockets!

Oooooooooooooooooh, sorry Chip! Looks like it’s going back to Washington.

I have a 3:45 layover in Detroit tonight (en route to Charlotte). Anyone recommend a good place to watch the Pistons/76ers game while I’m stuck in the airport?

^The Fox Sprots bar.

You shoulda told this news earlier, I live about 20 minutes from the airport. We coulda watched the game and I coulda made fun Hibachi (jk).

Anyway, yah, the fox sports bar is cool, but smokey.

oh yah, GO PISTONS!!!

Go Rockets! The Jazz were 37-4 at home during the regular season, which is pretty remarkable. I think during the 80s the Celtics had a year where they went 40-2 or 41-1. I don’t think anyone has ever gone 42-0.

If they can go into SLC and win tonight, given Utah’s road woes I see them advancing to round 2.
