Official Summer Tourdate Thread

Is there a chance that these shows are not going to be that great? Dont get me wrong, I am super excited for them to be back together and to be able to attand another show with my old friends (assuming that we get tickets). But my question is that will this bring all random people out of the woodwork to the shows? What do you think the vibe will be, and what will their playing be like?

“If you’re gonna take a risk, sometimes you’re gonna play shit.”

the upcoming shows - hampton, summer tour and beyond - could really run the whole spectrum from good to bad.

now that the obvious has been stated, i think the boys will come back with a new fire this time and do it right… maybe that’s blind faith, or just optimism speaking, but i don’t think they would have came back again until it was the right time to do so… which includes all of them being dedicated to rehearsal and being in a good/healthy state of mind to pull off some incredible shows once again.

i’m hoping for some good ol’ consistency with their playing on a night to night basis

what up peoples, sorry got busy and have not posted or read the threads/posts… so sorry

SO whats up with Bonnaroo? When are they going to release the schedule? The Phish rumor is killing mee… I have not bought tickets yet but phish playing will for sure change my mind.

The Bonnaroo schedule is out Feb. 2 or 3, I believe.

I would say it’s 100% that Phish will be playing. Why else would they shape their tour the way they have?

PHG!!
You are right, how odd that there’s a nice break after their last summer show…

So early Feb… I don’t remember that from last year… Isn’t this year the first time that they sold tix prior to the schedule?

I am not buying until that’s release… im getting married and suppose to save for that… but if Phish is playing… there goes dinner for the wed… hahahaha

ok, I’m IN THE LOTTERY!

jut put in for 2 tickets at each of the following shows:

Asheville
Star Lake
Deer Creek
Apline Valley (both nights)

see you all this summer!

I had this roommate in Folly Beach. She was heavy into Panic, and maybe a little more Ween. When we met she HATED Phish! Like only a southern girl can. 2 years later I see her 2003 and she had been to Phish in Charlotte. She fucking loved everybit of it! She apologized for hating on Phish. I think that the “good show” Phish played there mended a lot of fences regarding Phish animosity South of the Mason Dixon. I recall a stinker they played on Summer 99’ that wasn’t exactly an Ambassador of Good Jamming to the local heads. Until the North South Jam Band War can come to a lasting agreement, (that Phish is better) there will be no prolonged peace. Or it could be a Virginia thing and unrelated to how hard tickets will be: (FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE!). Forget I said that or have ever heard of Virginia. I know Ashville’s in N.C… I’m just saying that those Virginians can be such bullies. They treat the South like their own little trustafarian playground. Being from MI. down there those kids in Folly S.C., from Virginia would take total advantage when they had the right numbers. Don’t get me started.

I have trouble understanding all this talk about the south having some sort of unusually high dislike for Phish. I would say that the only place I have lived that had an unusually large amount of Phish fans was, understandably, New England (I lived in Worcester, and Phish fans seemed to be fairly abundant). Strangely enough, though, the area of Birmingham I live in is also full of Phish fans, but maybe it’s because it’s also full of young people. Either way, know that me and all my friends down here in Alabama (about as south as it gets) are as pumped as anyone (especially for Asheville!).

True, Phish has never been ones to mess with their fans’ minds.

that has to be sarcasm, right?

^ Noooooooo

come on, Dirty Work, Norm, brilliant!

watch out, Neil no are no nice guy…

I just put in my request for Great Woods. That’s the only show I’ll realistically be able to make, unfortunately.

WTF are you talking about? This is not East coast West coast hip hop wars. I live in Virginia now (NY transplant) and I never heard such stupid comments!!! Fucking Phish use to open for Panic back in the day when they toured in the South and Panic used to open for Phish when they toured in the North. They both helped each other out. Kids… ::slight_smile:

I dunno, I kind of like the idea of a Jam Band Civil War.

I call General McClellan!

Are we using the Mason/Dixon Line (IHOP/Waffle House Line) to decide which side we’re on? No, no we’re not. There are no such lines or borders or anything else. We just like Phish. It seems pretty simple to me. What is it about people that creates such animosity? I was talking to a guy from Poland. He was talking about how two guys from neighboring villages might fight in honor of where they’re from. Then, if they were to meet in a big city, they’d be friends because they’re both from the same small area. Maybe people just like that sense of belonging to something. The terror and isolation of existence is tempered by a feeling of connection…to anything…for some people.

Traitor!

fires warning shot

sidebar but how come jones beach hasnt been put up on livenation.

If your not in the fight you’ve already lost!!! No. Seriously I first noticed this in 1999. The kicker was I wasn’t aware of it either. It’s because the Phish kids were not the ones doing the hating. It was (like Hamas) organized pockets of Spreadheads that were loudly hating on our scene. A subroot of this issue involves recreational chemistry and fiscal, territorial policy. Once the bands are both back up and cannibalizing each others revenue i.e. ticket sales. This 5 year detente will fade. Yes! It is exactly like East West when car-fulls of Wook-gangters with their hip-hop show up on lot and and force you into some middies. Yuck!! On an unrelated topic: If you’ve read Run Like An Antelope you will notice that the only 2 chapters that are not a 99 tour venue, are in Folly Beach, South Carolina. Except the one chapter in Lynchburg, TN. It’s not a very nice study.
